Aren't those laws somewhat different in Japan? I can't remember where I read about it.. but they have a much more lax approach to child pornography than we do in the United States - and of course we're comparatively ultra-puritanical when it comes to issues of sex in popular media when you look at other post-industrialized nations. Somehow violence escapes that scrutiny, I've noticed...

Regulation of underage pornography: A fascinating topic, really... gets to the heart of agency. You know, age of consent, the evaluation of when someone is competant to act on their own accord.

Is this the photobook I've seen pictures from? I though they were very tasteful... I think that maybe modeling is not the right career for her, but I thought, at least, it was nothing to be ashamed of.

Pre-teen gravure models are certainly not uncommon in Japan, especially when the little girls featured have overly developed bosoms - Irie Saaya and Shinozaki Ai being prime examples.
