^ What's the significance of her grandfather?

Sounds like he's must've been well-traveled: Juri-chan mentioned him when she was in England as well...

They are all somehow connected to the Grandfather's Letters project...

Sir Henry, the grandfather who wrote the letters and picture cards, was born in India. He lived in India and England before, which is why they went to India this time.

Hope the show will be as interesting as Kagayaku Onna.

Juri-chan's grandfather was born in India?

Was he Indian? British? :headscratch:

I'm referring to the grandfather in "Grandfather's Letters"....Not Juri-chan's

Oh.... You weren't clear on that.

But Juri-chan did mention something about her grandfather at the train station in England... And this was before the Grandfather's Letter's project...

She also mentioned her grandfather and grandmother too in Ao Akua...
She said her handsome grandpa married her grandma because she had many farms (rich family)... :hehe:

So far, I've seen her mentioning most of her family members through mag or tv interviews, except her father...I wonder why....or if there is a why....

Hmm, yeah... That's interesting... I don't ever recall even seeing a pic of him.... Oh, maybe in Ao Akua.

it was the show where juri, eita, and that other chick :usuck: were telling their stories of how they debuted in the entertainment industry.
juri said that she went to her first audition with her sister and her dad.
i don't really recall juri talking about her dad, but i heard that he went bankrupt and he got his property taken away.
she was sad of the fact she doesn't have a home where her whole family can live.
that's why they all live separately, and one of her biggest dreams is to buy a house for her whole family.

You would think, given her popularity, that she COULD afford that by now.

I know Japanese actors aren't paid as well as Hollywood actors, though

it's ridiculous how low japanese celebrities' paychecks are.
i think they deserve a lot more than what they get.
even if they work 24/7 every day of the year, they still can't get as close as $1 million

That's very true... And the cost of living in Japan is pretty steep.

Also, she's still in the early stages of her meteoric career, so in due time. :fingerscrossed:

Ah yeah... I remember that....but she didn't talk about her dad...

Now I can recall her early variety show when her dad wrote a letter and she was shedding tears....

And they have to do the swimming suit in their early stage of career....

Though it's common in Japan, I still find it ridiculous somehow..

Yeah, it seems to be some rite of passage for any female star in Japan.

I'll bet when Juri-chan had to do her swimsuit thing, she wasn't to happy or proud of it... It's not her style.

I don't blame her... Though I wish she'd have an annual calendar... :inlove:

But again, that's not her style.
