qilver wrote:^ i do think you need to visit Japan, and find a way, because i see so much of Juri Ueno on TV, i think i saw a half a dozen commercials of her almost every other day, and even on the Yamanote trains, posters, etc...

it seems she is quite popular here, and like most other Japanese celebrities, they are advertising the latest gum, drink, computers, anything media related and posters are plastered everywhere, trainstations, trains, restarants, stores, and on buildings. Imagine a 50 foot Juri poster! :woot:

I'm wondering... is it rude to take pics in trains in Japan? I've read tat some people might take it as an offense.
I'm trying to blogspot everything that is Juri when I get to Tokyo nxt mth. Hopefully I won't be breaking any taboos on the way.

From my experience they don't seem to care much, unless you are making very conspicuous gestures of shooting someone. If you are only photographing poster etc. I don't think there's a problem.

I think it's okay if it's just a poster and if you take it without disturbing others (?!)

So, you've decided to take the trip at last? :applaud:

^ thtl: I guess its fine then... provided I aim correctly and inconspicuously like u say. If I'm in doubt, I'll just use the HP cam. :hehe:
Actually I meant to ask if its alright to take pictures in/front of stores or display stands etc...I remember I was shooed away angrily for taking a picture outside a shop once. I taut its interesting enuf since it has a caricature mask of Bae Yong Jun. But apparently the ojiisan thinks not. :usuck:

Flame: Yeah, confirm the bookings last week. Just made it b4 the ticketing sale ends.
I hope I'm lucky enuf to get a glimpse of the big Shishido ads in Shinjuku station. Maybe then, I can do the [infamous] posing~ :muack: (kidding)

I haven't had the same problem when I lasted visited Japan. However it would be wise to do quick snaps as opposed to making the process something of a studio shot. :hehe:
