Is she just on the cover?
No. There are some inner pages. I'll post them when available.

Cant wait to see them
I'm digging out past discussions... sure took me a while to find
Are we talking about character development or acting here? If it's the first, then yea I agree the director and writer should share the blame, but if it's the latter then I blame it all on Masami :beaten:

Maybe I thought the role was one-dimensional because Masami pretty much botched it... Truth to tell, the director should share the blame as well, since he/she didn't seem to do much with the character as the drama progressed...

If some of the behind-the-scenes chatter was true, I'd wager the reason Michiru was shallower than an inflatable kiddie pool was because they changed the script to keep Sousuke alive. If the original intent was for him to die early, the rest of the series was likely to have been how she dealt with that and grew.
I read on wiki they cut Juri-chan's parts as well. I'll be officially mad if that was true :goddammit:
Kijinnmaru wrote:
Of course this isn't saying that Masami could have pulled it off or not. Nor would it have stood up against Juri-chan's Ruka if they kept her the same.
No, I'm confident in saying that it wouldn't have IMO. She would become more likable, but good character development wouldn't help her acting, especially against someone who had simply become the character herself.

I love her tomboy side, but Ruka is a little too tomboy for me. :beaten:
Can't blame you, most guys would probably say the same. But don't you think she's boyishly good looking? I'm sure even a guy can see her charm, albeit not hot or feminine enough

I thought she was great from beginning to end... And it was my first Juri-chan experience: I didn't know her from anything up to that point, but her spunkiness and joie de vivre just blew me away and I've been a fan ever since... :smitten:
I liked Nodame's spunkiness but what really amazed me was, usually when I saw a "genius" character on TV or movies, all I saw was an actress/actor *acting* as a genius (yes, as good as he is, this applies to Tamaki Hiroshi too IMO ). But not with Nodame. This may sound extremely cheesy, but she had this aura surrounding her telling me she's a true genius, and I recall I was seriously intimidated by it. That aura happened because of her acting, the way she talked, looked, played, stared, her mannerisms, everything. It was the first time ever that happened to me. I can't stress this enough, but once again, she's amazing!

Yup, when she talks about acting (particularly in Kagayaku Onna) you can see she's serious and dedicated to her craft and looks to improve with each film/drama... :victory:
Yes, just when you thought you couldn't love her more... *sigh*

noblsheep said that she was working on subs for Ao Akua, but I haven't heard from her in a while...
Oh well.
I already watched Ao Akua without the sub  The DVD doesn't have a menu, didn't expect that. I thought I would be greeted with a beautiful Juri-chan backdrop when I popped it in, but...oh well... :beaten:
Still, I kinda wished someone would at least translate the photo book but no such luck too... :(
flamethunder85 wrote:
I've never done sub before, but maybe I should learn as soon as I have time.
Ao Akua is a great deal, but I think I can manage the short clips news, etc. We, Juri-chan fans, are really in need of subbers, ne?!
How about the photo book then? could you do that? please? but of course only if you have the time, not trying to be demanding at all

Are they wrinkles?
I was thinking it was more from his weight loss than anything else... Most of his female fan base has been agonizing over that for the past year or so...
Yes, look at his neck. It's almost like he was in his forties in that pic :beaten: I'm worried for Nodame movie now... will he still look that way in the movie? I hope not.

It was a quirky movie... I think the main point of Turtles was to be yourself, be happy, and not try to be something you're not... :)
Oh now that you mentioned it...it makes sense. Still too quirky for my taste though, I hope KVR has better pacing and is more mainstream so more people can get into it :victory:
