Yes it is performed by Ms. Miyazawa... The song is titled "Kokoro Kara Suki" ;)

Sure.

I tried for a while to get this single, but haven't had much luck... I think it's pretty good: Rie has a nice voice and the song has a good jazzy beat to it... :)

No problem.

I can always rip the song from the video... Though the quality will only be fair at best. :)

Thanks for the responses guys

I think I have the song from one episode too but the quality isn't very good.

There are two other good instrumental songs in this drama also. One is when she is reading a letter from her sister asking her how her life in Tokyo is. The other one is when she is reading the letter from Mr. Yoshimoto (funny how I remembered his name  ). I think it was in the last episode which I recorded.

I kind of gave up hope I would ever find these songs. I never searched too seriously though.

Hmm. Now after all this talk about it, it's given me some motivation to try to find the OST for this series...

Have you looked in the usual places like yesasia, amazon japan, etc?

Well, Amazon Japan has the series on VHS for the outrageous amount of Y10,290... :bleh:

Here's the OST at Yahoo Japan Auctions for a mere Y1200:

If that is used, I might as well pay ~$4 more to get the ones at Amazon Japan. But it's still pricey though, for VHS. If it were DVD, they'd be more reasonable, I suppose.

I'd make a bid on the sucker, if they'd ship the goddamn thing internationally.... :grumble:

you're nonetheless pretty resourceful....i'm impressed you found it, despite it being soooo old, and fairly obscure.

There are a couple of board members who live in Japan (darkflame for one), so you might be able to strike a deal. Or there's always those darn proxy bidders, but those fees would make it really pricey in the end.

I just used the same search techniques that I use to ferret out every tidbit of Ryoko info on the 'net.
