quite. the speed with which data is disseminated given the evolution of p2p programs and the growing accessibility of internet access is mindboggling...i remember when i was in college i was psyched when i the rare individual on the internet who whas into japanese dramas and i could buy or trade vhs tapes of shows that aired on various int'l channels in the u.s. ...my how things have changed.
So I just ordered a copy of Tokyo Elevator Girl subbed in English that's supposed to be "excellent" quality....I've never seen a decent copy whatsoever...I thought I'd take a chance...if it's better than my degraded copy which is practically unwatchable it will be a lucky purchase.

I think I know where you ordered it... And I've got a feeling their idea of "excellent" ain't the same as ours...
I wandered around their site and noticed that they also have Okusama wa Majo with English subs... On two DVDs with "excellent" quality.
My copy of said drama is also on two DVDs and the quality looks like a VCR recording copied to DVD... :bleh:
That said, they might not be the same, but if the screencap is representative of the video then.....
I don't doubt it will be TV-rip, I never thought otherwise, to be honest....because I don't think that series was ever released on DVD as far as I know...I'll just wait to check it out...it was a shot in the dark to begin with...if it's even a B- quality video...that's way better than what I have.

If anything, hopefully it's NOT the copy I authored and traded with various people over the past couple of years... :fingerscrossed:

Actually, they're covers for (bootleg) DVDs. :beaten:

I wish I could have liked this show...

I'm not quite sure why I don't like this drama. At first I thought my dislike was based in my morals, but on further thought I realized that this is not the case. I mean, I'm the one who is 100% on Angelina Jolie's side in the whole Brad-Jen-Angie triangle. So why do I have such a problem with this drama?
ALL the actors/actresses did an amazing job, and the plot is intriguing. Even the cinematography had its "wow" moments. Miyazawa Rie especially stands out as someone I would like to see in another drama.
The only thing I can say is that I feel I've been lied to by the main characters. Tsukasa was portrayed as a naive, kind, caring female who you wish you could be like.
Yoshimoto was sensitive, gentle, and comfortable. You wished he wasn't married so that he could save Tsukasa from her miserable relationship with Shima.
Spoiler — click to revealBut he was married. And because they fall in love with each other, they end up losing the qualities I liked about them. I was misled, and instead of getting some closure or resolve, I was left with an ending that betrayed the movements of the storyline.

He did save her... Sort of... And got caught in her orbit.

Not cool.
