Okay, I'll hit those after I download 12-23... Thanks for the recommendation.

you'll notice more seeders and leechers, that's convenient, of course, but anime fans are rabid about quality subs (unlike dorama fans)

I don't consider myself a real anime fan, but I am rabid about quality subs, which is why I go through the painstaking effort of grammar and spell checking all of the dramas I hardsub... It ain't perfect by any means, but much more palatable than the original subs themselves. :bleh:

I've tried my part on D-Addicts to press the quality issue of the subs, but I'm just a small fish in a sea of indifference.

I saw what you did on D-addicts and it was a righteous effort...those folks are just too entrenched in their culture and way of doing things...anime subbers are just so more efficient...and there's no sense of competition...everyone's happy there are multiple subs available...
It's always struck me as odd that dorama subbing and anime subbing seem to be such different things...

Maybe the fangirls and fanboys play into this kooky equation. :bleh:

Hmm, maybe a fansubbers guide to fansubbing needs to be written...:victory:

I'm planning to watch this, but someone said you won't enjoy the anime after you've seen the drama, so I'm going to watch the anime first.

Welcom to JDorama. Whether you'll prefer the drama over the anime, or vice versa, is a matter of personal preference. The anime incorporated a more complete story line, straight from the manga; whereas the drama changed part of the story line to make for a tighter plot. I must say I prefer the drama, not least because I'm a big fan of Juri-sama's (that's Ueno Juri a.k.a. Nodame), but because the drama is more animated than the anime IMHO.

Either way, you'll see that the live action really makes the manga come to life, so to speak. :)

Episodes 12-23, and 1-4 of the anime are downloaded... Let's see how they hold up against Juri-chan and the gang. :)

I just finished watching the first episode of the anime and it just reinforces what thtl has been saying: the live action is more "animated" than the anime... :)

I cheated and jumped to episode 23: it only goes as far as the live action version does... :(

But did you enjoy the first epi?

It was okay.

The live action is more involving, I think.

The scene with the Noda family came out mostly as montages rather than animation - I felt a little cheated.

I noticed that, too.

I guess I should continue watching, but I can't help feeling underwhelmed.

The Live action I thought was much better than the anime but the anime does have a closer story-line to the actual manga. It made reading manga without reading the first 9 books much easier. I just read 10-17 myself and the anime helped a lot.

For some reason though, the Chiaki portrayed in the manga had a slightly different image to the Chiaki we see being portrayed in the drama. Though both of them are equally good.

I thought the anime Chiaki was even more obnoxious than the drama one. Some of the little changes in the drama - such as changing in the the S-Oke T-shirt in their debut performance, was probably designed to make Chiaki more likable. I also thought bringing members of the S-Oke backup into RS-Oke in the Christmas concert made Chiaki a warmer person.

In Nodame Cantabile OST, I've found Song Titled Twin Dragon.
I really impressed. Can anyone explain bout this song?
