Fa real!
I can't believe I forgot to post my review here, tho.
My Review: 10/10
Ifm not at all surprised that this drama won awards for Best Casting and Best Screenwriter, among others.
The storyline is very simple. Two very different guys meet and embark on a journey to find their own dreams, while living and breathing the ocean during a fateful summer. The plot for each episode is sometimes not evident, and Ifm not even sure if anything ever really happensc but what makes this drama so great is the way the characters develop. I was hooked with the very first episode. By the second, I was already breathing with the characters. Everything about this drama is so real and raw.
The actors and actresses arenft acting. Theyfre being. Sorimarchi Takashi was absolutely brilliant, and Takenouchi Yutaka was so honest and truthful. Hirosue Ryoko, whom Ifve only ever enjoyed in Summer Snow, has added another of her dramas to my list of favourites. And Inamori Izumi! My goodness. Ifve found her annoying in everything Ifve seen her in, but shefs definitely redeemed herself with this role. Ifve never felt so dearly for a character as Ifve felt for hers watching Beach Boys.
The drama is not perfect, but Ifve given it a 10/10 because it was truly a pleasure watching such fine characters grow and breathe.
