That was the first time I really enjoyed Toyokawa as a lead, and since then I've been more willing to watch his stuff.
Heck, I liked the show so much that after I watched the retail copy that I'd bought (with the EngRish subs) I found out that a couple of folks had put together a set of fan subs, so I downloaded the whole thing again so I could re-watch it without having to do a mental translation for every line.
I was also a big fan of the little actress that played Toyokawa's daughter. Murasaki Maya. She was the best part of the Asadora, Kaze no Haruka (she played Haruka as a little kid). Then she went on to shows like "Bengoshi", and "Kiraware Matsuko".
Sadly she appeared in Kirakira Kenshui, and hasn't been seen since.
I'm hoping that experience didn't scar her for life. Kid actors usually annoy the bejeezus out of me, so I'd hate to lose one of the few good ones. _________________

I've finished Scandal. The ending was a little anticlimactic, but satisfying. Again, many thanks to marspeach for subbing it. It was my favourite show from Autumn '08.
So that means my top doramas in each of the four seasons last year where:
Ashita no Kita Yoshio
Muri na Renai
Gonzo
Scandal
@Musa and Ralph: I was totally grossed out by Kuzu as well, but the more I watched him, the more he reminded me of an anime character. When I looked into it, I found out that the drama is based off a manga, so his appearance (red cheeks and all) started to make sense. After this revelation, he didn't bother me so much.

Mark's got a good memory. Yeah, I absolutely loved Bengoshi no Kozu (Lawyer Scum).

I really enjoyed her as well, but not as much as I enjoyed Takashima Reiko. There are only two female Japanese actresses that I actually crush on, and Takashima-san is one of them.
I finished the drama yesterday. After I write my review I'll be starting on Ai no Uta.
Edit: Hmmm... no Bengoshi no Kuzu thread. I'll just post my review here:
Review: 9/10
The thing I love about watching dramas blind is that when the drama comes out great, you really feel like you have stumbled on something fantastic. Bengoshi no Kuzu is a hilarious drama that is made brilliant by all the small things. I love how the theme for the Host Club always changes; how therefs a random man in a dog suit who sporadically appears in the background of every episode; how the actors make a point to remind you to watch the next episode (yet are still in character!); and how the theme of the episode is already written outside the Shirai senseifs office door. I especially enjoyed how at the end of episode 11, all the characters randomly showed up at the Host Club to discuss what may happen in the finale.
Aside from the little things, each episode was solid (except perhaps for the last one, which was the weakest). With the exception of the continuous storyline between the characters, the storyline for each episode is different. The plots are intriguing and well written, and I find the cases fascinating and entertaining.
In the beginning, and all the way to the end, the character Kuzu completely disgusted me. I was especially horrified that he kept grabbing his gpackageh in the presence of his daughterc but I ended up finding a way to completely ignore his nastiness and focus instead on hisc wellc other qualities, I suppose. I thoroughly enjoyed Takashima Reiko (of course) and I thought Ito Hideaki did a great job in a comedic role!
If youfre looking for a lot of fun, this drama is definitely the key! _________________

On episode 4 of Ai no Uta. The title is misleading, but that's good. I love Kanno Miho. I loved her in Churasan, and I'm SO glad to see her in another comedic role. _________________

Just finished the very last episode of Bloody Monday, I was very impressed it was a very good story and answered all the questions. Oh and I do very much love 'Kirishima' played by Yoshizawa Hisashi, he was my favourite character in it, but there were so many amazing characters in it they all did a fab job. I am satisfied, I wish there was more... maybe one day they'll do an sp or something I am inspired to watch more dorama now :: beams :: _________________

Top Sales Ep. 6, while doing the subs. Great episode, but a nightmare to do subs for Subs should be up at d-addicts as soon as my checker has finished, er, checking them.
I also watched Ep. 1 of Abarenbo Shogun 11. This is your traditional Samurai adventure series, a bit like the old Western TV shows. You have your good guy, your bad guy of the week, a lot of fighting, a bit of humour.

hi guys....long time no see....
just finished bloody monday also.... finally!!!!...
the story, it's quite interesting....
I must say it's one of the best drama I've seen...
to all the casts,,,
As a hacker genius Haruma Miura really played his role...
And the J guy (forgot his name) also did a good job...
the story's very unpredictable.... suspense till the end...
but the talking parts really bore me....I mean the negotiations and stuff...
I almost lost interest watching it because it gets kinda boring in the middle eps...
the ending are not very clear... I guess there'll be 2nd season or special ed...
my friends said that the story are similar to L change the world movie... which about virus attacks by some kind of terrorist organization...
but I can't really tell coz I haven't seen the L movie yet...
Top Sales Ep. 6, while doing the subs. Great episode, but a nightmare to do subs for Subs should be up at d-addicts as soon as my checker has finished, er, checking them.

I have been pretty busy with the drama today haha ^^; apart from watching the last 3 eps of Bloody Monday. Instead of doing some revision ^^; I got distracted by
FINALLY watching episode 11 of Liar Game ><;;;; (I watched the rest of the series weekly as it was released a couple of years ago ʁ)
I also watched episode 1 of
Galileo
Mukodono 2003
Psychometrer Eiji and
Yamada Tarou Monogatari
Now I don't know, which to watch first ^^; after the first 5/10 mins of Yamada Tarou I thought I was gonna hate it and nearly turned it off... but then randomly I got into it.
Psychometrer Eiji was old but pretty fun, didn't expect to find it so interesting. Galileo seems real good I like the chemistry between the 2 main characters it amuses me. And Mukodono 2003 well I liked the original and this looks like much of the same. It seemed cute and I'll prolly watch it all but maybe leave this one til last if it's going to be similar to the first.

Finished Hataraki Man...
And how did you find it?
Watched Koi ga Shitai x3 episode 1-3
Too many characters for me, but I am interested. Kanno Miho hasn't had much screen time yet, but it should pick up as the series goes on.
Also watched Tenchijin episode 3
Not much happened, but I'm glad Tokiwa Takako had some screen time. It's rather light in tone, probably written with family audience in mind. The acting was good all round, I think.

Really shoulda studied grrr ><
Anyway yeah I thought it was ok it was a lot easier on the mind after Bloody Monday and eeeh it's now the 2nd drama I've watched Yoshizawa Hisashi/Yuu in (the guy I liked from BM) his character was amusing in this rather than serious lolz loved it. _________________

i just finished SCANDAL and i really like it. the ending was a bit...hmmm. but overall it was good.
currently watching 1st episode of arifureta kiseki(i don't see a thread for it here??!) starring nakama yukie and kase ryo. it's super nice to see nakama yukie when she's not in that yankumi persona. also, i've always thought kase ryo was mainly a movies kinda guy so i was surprised to see his name on the cast list. i am enjoying it so far. i like the nothing-is-happening feeling of the drama or the lack of drama in the drama and the humour with very little exaggerations which, i feel is not very common in jdramas. definitely looking forward to the rest of the series.
