I was very sad to read that An Jae had such a bout of depression.

After Geezer's (now self edited) comment about An Jae, I too did some research on this actor. I agree Peggy, that this is just plain sad to find an actor at the height of his career become so depressed. After re-watching the beginning of Oh Pil Seung, I could not discern any depression symptoms... of course this was before he went into that sorry state. I just hope he pulls out of it for good though if it has a broken love affair at it's core, it could be quite hopeless until he is an old man.
But I can understand since I could not stop watching until 3am each morning.
Are you feeling frustrated at the direction Soon Young's emotions are going. I wanted to crawl into the screen and scream at her.

YES! Why do girls have to be so complicated! And the thing is:

I'm now beginning to sympathize with Pil-Seung's assistant! Her story is SO sad and she's so kind! And beautiful! I almost wish she comes out with a flaw so that I don't end up wanting her to get with Pil-Seung.

I can't believe we are getting identical reactions. The more I saw the assistant, the more I began to root for her to get Pil Seung. She gets increasingly beautiful as the episodes rush by.

Ralph and Wynter,....
You would like Ahn Jae in 'Dr.Goodbye' It is quite an unusual story I think, and his portrayal of the character is really detailed and never wanders off the track. There are side stories but they don't detract from the tale of this man and how he runs his life and his business and deals with his personal problems.
I am not overly thrilled with the heroine but she does a fair job here.

Sorry if the "self edit" seemed a bit odd... but when I thought about what I'd written I realized that I had no business talking about someone else's problems. Especially when I knew so little about him. So I thought it best to wipe it away before anyone read it.
I guess I was a little slow.
re: Pil Seong's assistant. that's Park Sun Young , and Ralph is on the money when he says she gets more beautiful, more attractive, more the sentimental favorite with each passing episode.
But no worries where Ms. Park is concerned. Shortly after that series she got to be one of the jewels of "The Sons Of Sol Pharmacy House". If you guys become fans of hers in "Oh Pil..." check out "Sons". It's wonderful.
And adding to her happiness... "Entertainment Weekly" followed her a bit this last year. After 7 years of dating, she married her boy friend (a diplomat, I think.), and I've never been as happy for a star getting married as I was for Sun Young after listening to her try to give interviews just before the wedding. I found myself liking the real person even more than the characters she's created as an actress.[/i] _________________

Mr. Goodbye was the first drama of his I saw and it's the one that made me his fan. I really liked the story and the "unusualness" of it.

Sign me up to her fan club. My sister and I were just talking about her and this quality she has for standing out among other big stars. I'm currently stalking her right now on Dramawiki. I think I have some of her dramas! _________________

I agree that Sons of Sol Pharmacy is one drama that has a little bit of everything you would desire in a drama.
It has drama. It has humour. It has the ability to drive you mad with irritation. At the same time you want it all to work out for every member of that family.
As far as Ahn Jae is concerned I think he is a rare actor indeed. He plays every role right on balance. Even when the drama is not very good, he shines ,and keeps you watching. I have loved him for years and he never seems to falter as far as talent is concerned. He has a wicked smile and glint in his eye and that doesn't hurt either.

Checked out a couple of eps of Auction House which was a bit disappointing. The lead actresses character was so lame it ruined an otherwise gripping story for us. _________________
After each Chae Rim drama ends I have to pull myself together as I go thru severe withdrawal. That is now the case as Oh My Lady dimed after the last pixel went blank..... another wonderful Chae Rim comedy romance.... Although it started a bit slow... could be because I was still in the throes of withdrawal from the previous Chae Rim masterpiece.... But finally, this is a 10/10. I was surprised at the unusual scenario.... bringing in the little girls as a major plot theme and speaking of which, they were both incredible actors. Kudos to the director for bringing such a surprising performance from such young tikes.
Interestingly, I have now been in the Kdrama phase long enough were I start to see familiar faces. At the conclusion I had to research where I had seen two very familiar faces. First, Lee Hyun Woo..... wow, I had just seen him in Dal Ja's Spring.... then the gorgeous Park Han Byul... yup she was the other beauty in Couple Or Trouble.
Well, amazingly in today's mail arrived another present from Wyn chan just in time for me to continue my Chae Rim marathon. So I will drown my withdrawal by immediately starting the next Chae Rim fantasy, All About Eve.
And no. I'm not giving up Sung Yuri.... just taking a Sung Yuri hiatus.

Ralphm1999,
Since you're on a Chae Rim row, try Powerful Opponents/Rivals. More of an action role for her, but still with the typical romantic teasing expected of a Korean drama. And the usual brooding girly men.

LOL! Yes. I really liked this drama. THe romance was overbearing but more subtle. I think I sent this one to Ralph... _________________
Thanks for the heads up for another Chae Rim sensation.
Yes, Wyn chan, it's in the pile you sent.
I no longer have a written list, just a pile of dramas and take the next one in the stack when I finish one. Because, All About Eve arrived just as I finished Oh My Lady, I started it ahead of the next one in the stack. Because of your endorsements I moved Powerful Opponents to the top of the pile for the next of my Chae Rim pre-occupations.
Just half way thru ep 2 of All About Eve. It took a while for the story to get going, but now I'm totally involved. I can see this is going to be a battle of wills, which I love to watch.
This must be quite an old drama, Chae Rim looks exceptionally young, but always desirable.

My sister informed me that All About Eve was one of the dramas that made Chae Rim a household name. My sister said it made her famous. Im not sure about that, but there you have it.
We have two more episodes to watch of Oh Pil. We'll finish it later. Than we're either start Oh My Lady (which I really want to watch) or You're Beautiful (which my sis really wants to watch). _________________

As I have not seen You're Beautiful yet, I naturally recommend Oh My Lady. If you enjoy watching little 4 or 6 year old kids doing an incredible acting job, this is it....especially the younger one. I still don't understand how they got her to do the acting she does.

Watched Episodes 1-2 My Girlfriend is a Gumiho.
Funny and entertaining. The lead actress, Sin Min-ah, is very engaging.
So far, one of the better romcoms I've watched.
Oh I am watching it right now too. It is awesome so far. I am only on Episode 4 so far though. Sin Min-ah is outstanding and I also really like the Grandpa.
