Couldn't agree more! Plotwise, cast-wise, Triangle seems to be the better bet!

i don't know how true is this, but i'd read from several japanese blogs that yamapi may star in a spring drama called 'kimi ni todoke' with gakki.

kimi ni todoke is currently one of the popular manga in japan.

i kind of doubt it though i really want to see yamapi in a drama (and his usual time slot is in spring)

What is aphonia/aphasia? It's different with mute, right? But do they communicate with other people the same way as mute people does, with hand signs?

@ADad - I think what will make it insulting is how the plot will incorporate his ethnicity in the story line.

I think one of the most unsettling things is that apparently MatsuJun is going to be writing for that drama.

Being half-Filipino myself, I would be lying if I said I wasn't a bit intrigued about having a character that was mixed.

But then I remembered how really stereotypical/racist some dramas can be (like the almost pre-civil Rights "mammy" type maid featured in Hana Yori Dango, the all-black gang of random muggers that attack the female lead in the Hana Yori Dango 2 in NYC, or the general disgust felt by the kids in DragonZakura when they find out their english teacher hangs out at a "Philippine Pub").

I really don't have any idea how Filipinos are perceived by the general Japanese public- so I'll be watching for that, but I guess its a given that it must not be all sunshine since it's a source of conflict for the drama...
