Crap. I always out Geez everybody these days. I'm not pleased about it.
I could care less about who was and who wasn't a pro bowler. Trent Dilfer was a pro bowler.
But Tony Parrish wasn't?
Feh! It doesn't matter. Ding dong, Garcia is gone! Owens is gone!
I never thought Deese was anybody's All American, and Ron Stone never had a healthy day with the Niners. (And this summer he's spending all his time in the Raider's whirlpool.)
By the way, the Niner's best offensive lineman is Newberry, and he's still here. And I think Smiley and Harris are gonna make you forget Deese and Stone. Jurey's still out on Heitmann and Kosier. And how long can they keep proping Gragg up?
This is gonna be a very different Niner team.
Run Run Tollner, and wing-it Erickson won't put anything on the field that reminds people of the Niner Offensive system of the '80s. But there's some very good young stuff there for them to work with.
On defense??? Well, I thought Mora was a boob. So I'm willing to give the new guys a shot.
New. It's all new. Just keep saying it to yourself.

I think that's how a lot of the old time Raider fans feel about Big Al.
I'm an old school Raider fan: I love the team and hate Al Davis. Watched a number of games at Ricky's in San Leandro.
The Raider Nation folk are a disgrace. I still remember the rioting and looting and overall damage along International Avenue from the recent Superbowl loss.

Yea Raider's fans are jerks, probably me included. Although I wouldn't ever go to a Raider's game. Might get killed in the crowd. Unless I somehow get like box seats away from everyone

Oh well, can't blame you for hating the Raiders. I kinda like the darkside
Elton,
That's the thing so many of the younger Raider fans don't get.
I don't hate the Raiders. Heck, most of us old (it always comes down to old with me, doesn't it) Niner fans used to root for the Raiders. I know I sure was a Kenny Stabler fan.
It's this "Raider Nation" dress up in costumes, act like fools in the stands thing that annoys me.
That and the forced "rivalry" thing.
The Niner's rivals were the Rams. The Cowboys. The '84 Bears. The Parcells Giants.
The Raider's rivals were the Steelers. Not the Niners.

That's what I'm talking about, Elt'. You're a regular guy.
But the criminal crowd has taken over the stands. You can't go there with a family any more and expect to have a safe and entertaining day.

Yea I wasn't around back then. I just laugh at all those costumes and the blackhole.

Oh man, I hate the Troj-Enz (I'm a Bruin fan)... What are the Hokies chances, since Marcus Vick is suspended (expelled?)... Or would he have made any difference?
People sleep on the fact that Bryan Randal has been starting for Tech the last couple of years...Marcus Vick was supposed to start this year, but he's an idiot. Mike should let him know of all the distractions that happens along the way....it isnt that hard to keep your ass straight at Tech, I should know, I went there.
Tech's chances are not that great, preseason I believe we were ranked 41st. We'll see. Beamer is a great coach, and he focuses on the smaller things that make a difference in the game.
so back to the NFL...anyone starting up a fantasy league for this forum? i honestly cant handle too many leagues, but i decided only doing one at work...so i can handle one more
im curious to see how the lions do this year. sad that they couldnt get their act together while barry was around

I know this isn't NFL related but it's about sports and concerns us Warriors fans. According to ESPN, Dampier is likely to be traded to Dallas for Christian Laettner and Eduardo Najera! Looks like big Damp is finally gone and we get back a spark plug off the bench and a veteran PF who's going to be a free agent soon. Not too bad a trade, at least we got something back. Here's the article...

Usually I'm only into fantasy baseball but if people want to start a jdorama one, I'm all for it as long as it's free. I hear yahoo has a good one that allows us to draft.
I live in GA so we have a great quaterback in Michael Vick. But, the rest of the team as usual is forgetable. We'll have another .500 season at best. I am usually a fan of a underdog team that has a chance to win like the Eagles
