I liked the books, the movie wasn't as good, but it was still okay. The books are written well...and I've gotten some good laughs out of it. You have to be able to understand British humor though. Given the popularity of the book, I guess enough people have.

The Girl With The White Flag was a really good read, but some 172 pages isn't enough to keep me occupied for more than a day, sadly.

And now I finally got

So far it's... well, I'm not surprised that the more right winged people over there ignore Ienaga's book. He's absolutely not nice towards the leadership back in WW2. And his points make a lot of sense.

The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks.

I saw the movie recently and decided I wanted to read the book. If you are into romance or a story of un-ending love this is the novel for you. Smile

The Making of Modern Japan by Marius B. Jansen

Probably the best in depth English language book on Japanese history and culture from Tokugawa times.

as there seems to be a few threads asking what are you **** right now i thought i'd ask the above question.

also helps to build up a picture of what type of person you are.

i myself have just started the book 'the da vinci code' by dan brown. this book seems to be popular right now and i believe it's currently being turned into a film. tom hanks is in it i think.
