I think implimenting the links in the welcome E-mail would be really beneficial to the forum administration. Sounds good to me.

As for 86's suggestion, I have the same problem too. A remedy to that would be great!

I don't know how difficult this one will be to implement:

Automatically linking artiste threads to their profile, and/or linking to related threads (within DoA) from within individual artiste profiles.

i guess a kind of "vote for artist" type of thing can be provided when u start a new thread to link the topic with the artist it concerns.

with a link on the name of the topic when the topic opens.

but considering that most artists already have topics on them ... mods might have to update it manually ... Sweat Sweat

just wide thinking

This would be something very specific. Doesn't significantly beat manually inserting the artiste link into the first post of the thread right? Smile It'll be useful, but maybe not worth the effort.

As for artiste linking to the official thread, right now we have it as just a link to search the forum for the artiste's name. Normally, the first page of search results should have the official thread? Head Scratch

That's true. But I am seeing more people make inquiries within discussion threads that could be answered if they visited the particular artistes thread. And likewise, it would be easy to see if an artiste has a thread if they are linked from the detail page. Although it might not be worth the extra load on the database and the extra effort on coding.

There was a suggestion made at d-addicts (by jianwa) to have an average rating displayed for the dramas. I don't know how much work this would take to include.

Average rating from users? Like what we have in the user comments section? Shouldn't be tough to implement to show it in the drama details page. But to show it in the listings as well, might just have to add the extra fields in the db to precalc.

I hope this idea will come into consideration Smile
What if Jdorama try to implement actor/actress reviews? like what we have on dramas, there's voting system, and there is also reviews system.

I always find this situation, that I respect some actors, or find that they're quite good but couldn't write reviews on them since in order to do that I've to vote for that certain actor/actress,

so I think maybe a reviews system for actor/actress can be implemented without involving the voting system since I can understand the rational behind limited vote for an account.

This might not be very important because Jdorama site mainly focus on Japanese doramas, but having a system like that will be cool^^

After seeing numerous examples of this term being used (and the subsequent corrections) could we implement some sort of word filter? For example Jap would be automatically changed to Japanese. In this way, people who use the abbreviation could do so without changing the habit, while everyone will see the expanded term.

Reviews for artistes sounds ok. Is review the appropriate word? Just thinking... mmm..

Word filter could be manually done in this case I guess. But not a generic one. Just that "jap" has been overly used and our mods are already quite sick of reminding others of that. (right?)

Eve, do you mean the vote for artiste thingy? You can remove them from your profile page and add others. Maximum of 9.
