well, it is tough considering the area code, long distance, time zones, figured it would be maybe easier just exchanging email address?

| Gxcad wrote: | Well thanks for entertaining my interest in japanese dating culture for a couple weeks. As you might guess I am back in the states and I think my interest in this thread might decline sharply (or not?). I definately notice a big difference in peoples reaction being in japan vs SF. Well, I still like j-girls but I think I've taken a lot to j-raised j-girls a lot (opposed to america raised j-girls) and I did briefly interact with a couple of them in japan. Too bad japanese girls alone are so hard to find in SF and even harder in most of america, whereas almost everywhere in japan (duh!). Even harder to find a pretty one but very easy in japan, and no guessing if a girl is chinese or korean too, so if you are looking for j-girl of course japan is where to go. Any ways to meet japanese ppl particularly girls in U.S. appreciated~ hehe

College campuses are good places to meet Japanese women. That's where I met most of my Japanese friends. Of course, most of the time you have to be a student or volunteering (serious about it) for international students. Try Japanese-American cultural events too, lots of Japanese nationals on extended stays, business stays, or educational stays join in them. And I must say, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. _________________

All the people I know take off their shoes before entering either others' or their own homes.
On TV, I notice that people walk in dwellings with shoes on.
And some people I have had conversations with regarding the subject were suprised that it is a common practice in Hawaii.
What's the scoops? In Europe or the states, is taking your shoes off before entering not commonly practiced? _________________

Well ahochaude my shoes come off my mootsie-toosties at my front door in my home because I am a Buddhist. If my guests are Buddhists they take off their shoes when they enter my home. If they are not their shoes stay on. If I go to visit my Buddhist friends' home I ask first. Lets say I visit for social purposes (like dinner) and not religious purposes then my shoes would probably stay on. Do your shoes always face with the toes pointing towards the door?
PS. Oh yeah I live on Long Island, NY.

In my house, I leave the shoes I won't use the way I took them off. Usually pointing inwards. If I am to use a pair of shoes, they will be set pointing outwards, facing the door. |
That is interesting ahochaude. I never knew that about Hawaii. I hope to get there one day. I like taking off my shoes when I enter a home. There is something very humbling about it. So I think I would fit right in, in Hawaii.

It's practiced in Austria, that I can guarantee you. Usually you even get some guest slippers.
Personally I hate it when people don't take off their shoes.
I think the topic was dating... So.. shoes off at the first date or not?
