Yes, she is. Both versions of Taiyou no Uta feature the same storyline, but have different casts, so we end up with 2 Kaoru Amanes.

i went in there then the teacher face is freaking black and she have a pair of penetrating eyes.  The 1st question she ask me was what time is it now.I went to fumble for my handphone then she show me her watch with the fierce face then i panic and answer wakarimasen .. . . i knew the answer !*@#*&*&#  if only she had erika's beautiful eyes then i wont have panic~_~

if u are toking about Yui.. she sings very well (current bleach opening) and she plays the guitar too
and u are toking about erika, she sings, but dun think she plays the guitar
if u watched taiyou, you will know.. but still taiyou no uta from her is magical

Haha...I see. I was so confused when I first heard of Taiyou no Uta and Kaoru Amane. I saw Erika singing, and I wanted to look up more info on her CD. But my searches turned out YUI as Kaoru Amane and I was wondering if I had remembered the name wrongly...

good question.....probably due to her stage name, for the japanese drama Taiyou no uta, as Kaoru Amane, but it was Erika that sang it, naturally, but didn't play the guitar part?
