i was thinking about the 4 songs that will probably be on the next album [LINK, Promised Land, SHINE and Seventh Heaven] and they're ok, but they all sound very similar~ boppy and dance-like. hmm.

Promised Land?? Isn't it an old song from Heart? I dont think they would put it in the next album. The 4 songs I have in mind are Link, Shine, Seventh Heaven, and 15th L'anni song (from what i heard, it does seems to fit the rest). From What I read from Hydeist Time (translated in ARK BBS), i heard that hyde brought 4 songs and he was writing lyrics for them. So far, we haven't heard Ken's songs yet.

As for seventh heaven, I like it though i wish they have more guiter as well. Well, i will wait until pv or single comes out. I'm sure the next album will be a very happy one.

the 4th song is the one played at L'15

and vibrato is a bad bad bad thing for a vocalist... Shake Head i hope he will return to his L'15 way of singing ^^ he sang very bad during his DUNE period. best singing was at L'15.
i guess it was just a bad day for him ^^

d'oh! Bonk i didn't mean to write Promised Land! haha, that song came up on my playlist shuffle at the time and I ended up writing it while I was typing. how silly!! rofl I edited my post to prevent more confusing. But yea your'e right, the other song is that unnamed one we heard in the L'Anniversary. it still sounded similar to the other new Laruku tunes. hm.

Vibrato isn't a bad thing for a vocalist. where did you get that notion from? Some people have it naturally and others have to train to create one. Regardless, I didn't like hearing it in hyde's voice. He sounded great at the L'15, but I dont think i'd call it his best singing, only because he often looked strained (just as in the Popjam and MS shows) but he's getting older and has to work his voice more to produce the sounds that came easily when he was younger i guess. but it's all opinion anyway. I honestly don't know what I'd choose as hyde's best performances. hmm. Confused

LOL! I want to see that! I always read something about "Laruku anime" but until now I didn't believe it... Like kao-chan said, even if it's a fanmade I wanna see it!

About MS performance and new song... Well, I'm shocked. First, I read your comments and now that I've seen the youtube video I only can say: it's strange, very strange sound Sweat
The first time I saw it, it remembered me Caress of venus, as someone said here (the [electronic? dance?] background melody) and Hyde's dancing, all the performance was something like True era. Though I like that style of music (I'm fan of their first works) Seventh Heaven doesn't reach the level of the past songs. Vocally, Hyde shows strength and power, even if there's vibrato, but it's too low in my opinion... I like when he does high notes.
The chorus is weird, many english words, missed more guitar and drum sounds... It's pop, fresh, repetitive and easily to listen to but I guess it will take me time to love this song Shake Head Well, maybe it will grow in me if I hear it more times but now the best word to describe it is "strange".

Weird, I just listened to Flood of Tears and I thought that Hyde was trying to cope the vocals he had back then in songs like Flood of Tears. Not from a musical standpoint though, I'm referring to the vocals. Yet Meiko was right, it's not even close to their earlier works. Hyde's vocals still sounded raw and squeaky at times. He's been singing outside his natural range for quite a while and IMO he's strained his voice waaaayyy too much. Listen to L'Arc early albums, and I bet you wouldn't find what you normally do in hyde's singing from the recent albums. The music however, is not something I'd go ape for. Is nice and very dance-y. But it's too early to make judgement on L'Arc musical development. I think I'll wait for a melodic gem like Jojoushi or something downright dark and bizarre like Kasou, Shinsoku or Finale.

PS : I LOVE Hyde's deep and rich vibrato.

well... I0d like to give my opinion xD

when I first listen to seventh heaven I was like O.o "what happened here?" that kind of feeling... I mean, in comparison with the last albums (awake smile, etc) and even the early ones... these sound is really "strange"? xD it's, as meiko said, fresh and danc-y... but... it's a radical change to their music xD I mean... no one expected something like that... L'Arc is trying new things... mmm... the sound was new for many of us... but... it's a cute song... not the best but it's not that bad xD it makes me... smile xD

in the other hand I was in shock when I read that hyde had invented the melody... after faith and the awake melodies... I couldn't have imagine that HE would created something like that xD aa... hyde-san always surprise me ...

well... about he's voice... he's not young xD we have to understand that he's voice has changed... but it's great *------------* it's still very lovely n.n

so.. personally I liked it xD

It's really not that strange for me. I can easily grasp the music but it hasn't fully grown on me. Pretty enjoyable I guess. Just like everyone, I hope to hear more guitar solos.

I think its not 'strange'...but its 'different'
There is something vaguely catchy in the song that enjoyable.
I dont like his voice in this song, but its not bad at all. He show us that he has wide voice character. but for me even he can sing like this I prefer his usual character.

....wondering when the album will come out.....waiting...waiting...*sigh*

Ive been playing SH for several times now and it begins to sound like TMR song Sweat ..... naahhh, I think Im just dizzy...

oh.... you guys are writing so much these days.....

a few pages ago I've read that L'Arc want to return to their old style - can't remember who said that...
Is that true??
well I realy like the new song (Seventh Heaven), but I prefer L'Arc with the rock-ish style, like Haido in his solo....
Hope the album has some good beats... Victory! Peace!

and I miss Ken's guitar solos too Oh Crap

Well it's not new, but it's a Laruku doujinshi manga. You found one of the more popular ones that floats eBay for sale a lot but there are actually a ton of them out there.

You can read manga scanalation/translation at Reincarnation website. it's not done yet: http://www.geocities.com/NeoReincarnation2001/09Special/_Comic.htm

I'm agree with you, I thought that it was composed by Tetsu, but I saw it was hyde... I was wondering if they got influenced by the poll of L'Anniversary Live. Now they know what style of music we love and maybe he wanted to do something similar...

Yes, there is. Today I went out and suddenly I was humming the melody and then singing some words of the lyric that I remembered. Well, it's catchy but still seems different to me. And this isn't bad, I think that in 15 years of career they must to change and try new sounds, so I'm glad and there's also a bit of curiosity about the next works. With Link (summer-ish and fresh), SHINE (seems pop and medium tempo but it's a preview yet) and finally SEVENTH HEAVEN. Too much interesting things to hear.

Hahaha~ now I can believe in something like "music can break frontiers" and you ended up drawing the same as him xd

This is a quote of Eleonora from THE ARK board (I think it's ok if I give credits to the site o.o)

As minor detail, I was right about the 1.31 being the time needed to the song to reach the line with the answer, if you pay attention the line with the question it's at 2.58, the answer at 4.29.

Well, I have a rip of the performance with fans shouting at the beginning so the timing it's not right for me, but I understand that he sings "Where is heaven?" and a minute thirty one later you can hear "Where is heaven? [..] the answer's under your feet". It's something like a play word (again...)
