I don't recall if Tu-tricky disliked the show, but I know I found it a total waste of a couple of discs.
Ralph! As everyone knows, you are totally and completely wrong about "Sekai no Chuushin..." the series, vs. "Sekai no Chuushin..." the Movie.
HOWEVER!
Since you're the angel who pointed me toward "Kekkon Dekinai Otoko" I promise I'll never hold your mistake about "Sekai no Chuushin..." against you again.
This is one of the jewels. One of the JDramas that keeps me coming back.
I've watched 7 of the 12 episodes now, and for the last few days I've been obsessing about ways to slow myself down. Trying to make this last just a little bit longer. But I can't do it. I can't bring myself to skip a night, or watch something else.
The set-up, the characters, the actors... this show is just a pure joy. And hard to believe, it just keeps getting better and better with each episode.
So thanks for sending me scurrying off to get the flies.
That's exactly the way I felt about Kekkon. 'Course, when I was done, I watched it again.
On Topic: Engine epi 2. The first one wasn't that bad. _________________

Fortunately this is the kind of drama where most of it can be watched over and over without it getting stale. I must have watched the dog sitting episode 5 times now. And the scenes with Ryoko chan and Abe and or the dog, she is an amazing straight man in this I laugh outloud each time I watch them; she plays her naivete to absolute perfection....
"Wasn't that bad"? Not exactly gushing with praise... I may have to put that one aside for another time.
I like it so far, actually! I've heard really good reviews and really bad reviews, so I'm just weighing it on me own. So far it's fun. Mind you, I'm biased because I absolutely LOVE children...
Engine epi 3 now.
@Usagi: LOL! That's why I never watch a drama unless I have ALL the episodes, hence why I'm holding off on Hanayome to Papa. _________________

LOL, for someone who's only read the description of the drama at Silentregrets, the children reference makes absolutely NO sense. But don't worry, I don't need to know more I'll make up my own mind

Actually, I do rely fairly heavily on the opinions of others I trust: Usually they are not wrong. But that's because of my limited time available to watch, I don't want to commit to a dud

Engine has a more interesting story with the kids, but Pride has better chemistry between the leading actor and actress.
I'm in total agreement here, except I love EVERYTHING about Pride. AD, if you're gonna watch one of the two, then definitely watch Pride. I'm really enjoying Engine so far, tho! The kids are so deliciously and you have a few characters that are hard to read. I love that. _________________

In fact the children really make the story with Kimura just a bystander. To me Kimura is synonymous with romance and when that's missing then it's not vintage Kimura.
I'm just not into children stories. But it's very good if you like that kind of thing.
Now then Pride I've already watched 3 times and will watch it again and again. Alternating with Love Generation and now I'm also liking Last Christmas a lot.
