The Czech Philharmonic Orchestra is currently performing in Japan, conducted by Sebestino Vieira - I mean Zdenek Macal. The next performance will take place at Suntory Hall (ring a bell Mr Green ) tomorrow (26th) and Tuesday.

Anyone want to discuss favorite characters? Victory! Peace!

I can't choose one!!! They're all so good and so strong and so well developed!! I like all of them for special reasons--even Saiko!! Of course...I like Chiaki the most...he's so funny and obnoxious...(āAiDII). I like Nodame because the more I watch the series, the more I'm convinced it's about Me...and I like the other characters for tons of reasons. Kuroki because he's so sweet and gentle. Kikuchi because--he's a cellist! And he's funny--no matter what mess he's in, he just requests for cello concerto!!!! Dancing I secretly hoped they'd perform cello concerto because I hoped to hear the cello!!! (Though...we got to hear the 1994 recording of the Ma rendition of the Saint-Saens Cello Concerto No. 1, Op. 33 in A Minor in episode 6--it becomes Saiko's theme!!! --in a way...). But on the subject of Saiko--I like her because, all though she's a bit sorry in the beginning--split from Chiaki but still in denial, in the end, she sees Nodame's sincerity and supports her, knowing her position. The transition, character dynamic--it was all so powerful!! And Mine and Masumi too! Mine reminds me of so many students in music--perhaps even myself, in some ways. And Masumi is the representation of hope and frustration at once. He's a brilliant timpanist, but so wrongly thwarted in so many places. That's definitely an important character. And I LOVED Kiyora's role--especially when she was first introduced to Mine! 'S-Oke no kon-masu.' And then she says bluntly after an expressionless stare at the idle Mine: 'Sou.' Truncated, CLASSICAL!!! I never not laughed at that scene!!! Kyaa!! So long already!! Sorry, everyone!!! Bow

It's gotta be Nodame... Talented, sweet, messy, sloppy, adorable, goofy, kooky, considerate, carefree, and sooo cute... Smitten

The RS-Oke performed this piece in their New Year's concert in the anime. Kikuchi, the lucky and cheating SOB, was the soloist.
