I hate when you're in a rush everything gets busy as you're getting ready to leave. Today I had to take off work to go to a doctor's appointment and the mailman gave me 3 hugeass boxes, 2 smaller ones, and other misc envelopes. Then this annoying lady kept on talking to me when I was trying to get loose ends tied up before leaving and the bitch is fucking irritating as is even when I'm not in a rush. I can not stand people who talk on and on about stupid crap just to fill in gaps of silence. It's like who the fuck wants to hear your inane talk, lady? Ok, that was earlier in the day, but I'm still annoyed when I think about it. Sweat

That happens at my workplace too. You just need to be firm, but polite. I tell them I'm busy at the moment, and can't really carry on a conversation.

The bad thing was that it was kind of work-related so I couldn't really tell her to shut up nicely. I just continued to do what I was doing and said an "mmhmm" and "oh?" in her one-sided conversation and she got the hint after a while. Beaten But maybe I should've just told her to stfu in a nice way because I had to leave in 15 minutes and I had to do tons of stuff before I could leave and that her yapping was distracting me. Maybe I will the next time she comes in. Hopefully that won't be for a loooooooooong time. *knocks on wood*

That's usually what I do. I'm there, trying to fill medication, and the "jackass" keeps talking to me messing up my mental count. I usually just try to take a deep breath and let it roll over me. No use getting high blood pressure.

You can just point blank tell her to come back later. It's hard for most people to do, but it's better that people know what you think than starting to internalize your frustration.

Sorry...no more Dr. Phil from me Beaten

My problem is that I'm not tactful when I'm in situations when someone is irritating me. I've even shouted at people twice on the phone too. Sweat I really have to learn to control my anger and irritation when dealing with dumbasses.

It's hard to learn because most people are just jackasses. But you'll feel better if you can, since you have to work with this people. It's still okay to vent though...Mr Green

I think it's better to vent here than at the person I got irritated at. And thankfully I don't have to work with her; she's just a patient at our office. If I did work with her, I'd be tempted to quit because I know my blood pressure would go through the ceiling. Bang Head

Filmmaking. Tho we watching/analyze film as well. Smile Man, I wish you had been MY student. Puppy Dog Eyes

@cori, b-san, Kit-kun: I've learned, through working with irritating teenagers, that the person who is irritating you is not at fault. It's actually you're own fault. When you're irritated, it's because of your current position/mood/temperament, etc. It's your own fault that that particular person is irritating you. So I'm glad you didn't take it out on that particular person. It's always healthy (for you own self) to rant about it here or through another channel so you can clear the residue from within yourself. Smile

... safe until the person find this thread. hehe Beaten

Time to start saving money just in case. I don't know if anyone here is working in finance, but this week was really crappy. Stock market went south and there was this news: A guy in France, working for a bank, stole more than 7 billions$. Shocked

Might have layoffs in a few places, so everybody, don't piss off your boss and/or human resources director. Wink

Nobody knows for sure. Probably stole each time he made a transaction. They say there are multiples levels of security and verification systems, but he covered his tracks well. He worked in management before, so he knew how to hide them. Let's just say a lot of people got fired and quited.

I bet he's the one who keeps stealing my pen at work. Grumble hehe

Having said that, itLs bad news, after Citi, LB West and Merrill, yet another financal institution in trouble, and this only because one single guy was able to trick the contol system Doh!

I get that it's my own fault, but then again, I don't have a high tolerance for stupid people who have "diarrhea of the mouth" (love this term!).

Well I thought that too Sweat but I would have down it for my own benefit hehe

But this aside, today has been a bad day, the crisis is now fully there: prior agreed budgets have been reviewed, new monotoring procedures have been implemented, there might be redundancies in CS by August and there is already talk of outsourcing some operations. Shameful Cry
