And - is no one else lurking here in the games thread? AD and Stevie - are you still reading?
I wanna know what's happening with FFX and Devil May Cry 4.
I haven't turned the PS2 on in a week but hopefully in the next day or 2 i'll get back into it.

Omg, today I was playing and my game totally froze. I was trying to get to a cave for a mission, when the screen froze, and my machine had to be turned off as it wouldn't respond to any button-pressing.
I save a lot, so I hadn't lost any important data. I put the machine back on, loaded my save, tried to get to the cave again and the exact same thing happened. Grrrrr.
So, I try yet again - this time taking a different approach to the cave, and it worked fine. Except I caught Greenspore in the cave off a zombie. And I can't do the quest anyway, I found, until I'm better at some things.
Glad you figured out a way past the glitch. I was really frustrated by the glitch I previously mentioned until I used the console. I haven't had a reproducible crash on Oblivion yet, although it does decide to quit on me sometimes.
I've been doing the Mage quests, but I feel a bit guilty as I am not using much magic, just my usual brute force... There's nothing a good Ebony Longsword can't solve.

Well, as I suspected, they had original owners.
Not happy to give up her armor. Cursor says Amazon Warlord.
She looks like she means business. Also, your health is low in that screencap, so I gather she battered you?

The new owner. [Sorry, I didn't have the posing mod installed.] The armor actually has some really nice boots, but overall, it seems to expose too much skin to be called armor. I'm back to my White Sorcerer armor.

Goodness, she is rather exposed, isn't she? Could those bottoms be any more skimpy?! Looks good, though.
When I change armour, sometimes I end up with bare legs, and have difficulty finding something to cover them. I think to myself "does it really matter?", because I doubt any of the NPCs would notice, but I always end up having to get fully clothed, as it bothers me running around half-naked.
Well I think if I were to go back to the same point near the cave, the crash would happen again (twice, exactly the same way is too much of a coincidence, I think.) I'm just going to have to try to remember whenever it is that I go back to that quest.
You're opposite to me - I prefer using magic, and not getting my hands dirty, lol. Only problem is, I don't have great reserves of it. I need to up my intelligence.

Ah, cool! I thought you might not have been playing, as you hadn't been posting here lately.
I didn't play at all today, which is unusual for me. I have just felt so tired the last few days, that I thought giving gaming a miss today might be a good idea - I always find playing quite energy-sapping.

Yeah, I actually had about 30 mins last night but ended up just running around levelling up, because I knew I would only have a short time and I don't know where the next save sphere might be. I've sometimes played for 2 hours before getting a chance to save

Oh, I hate those games where you can only save at certain points! I loathe having to go though the same stuff when I load a game.

Uh, Madoka, are you male or female? Just curious I know where your avi and username come from, but that doesn't necessarily mean you're female

But I do think that these armor mods were likely designed by males.
That is one thing about consoles that I don't like. I've done the "where the heck is the save point" thing too many times late at night. Although, sometimes when you finally see a save point, you know a Boss fight is up ahead as its been so long since the last one. You should always be given a chance to save after a Boss fight. I've has a few battles that have lasted an hour long, and I do not want to look for the next save point after that.

Hehe, I died several times trying to get that armor. And as they say: "It is better to look good than to feel good."
Well, I figured out how to get a Free Camera and remove the HUD. So....
ARGH! I played Enchanted Arms last night for TWO HOURS and I accidently loaded a game without saving what I had accomplished! Two hours down the drain. _________________

That is grim.
That's why I save very often when I play (if it's possible to save), as I worry about that kind of thing happening.
On a happier note ( ), I am now a level 8 on Oblivion, and have enough points to move to level 9 when I want.
I've recently learnt how to sell stuff (I know, I can't believe I didn't know how to until recently *ashamed*), and have made tons of gold.

I managed to get to the next save point in FFX last night. Surprisingly, it was a lot closer than I expected. Which probably means there's a major story point coming up...

...and has it arrived yet?
I want to play one of my PS2 games, but whenever I switch on the machine, the noise really bothers me.
I hear that the new slimline PS2s are quieter. AD, is it the slimline type that you have?

Actually, it didn't. I spent ages trying to get to the next save point, ended up getting confused about which direction I was going, and then got myself killed (actually only the 2nd time in the whole game) so had to start AGAIN from the last save point but finally got there last night.
Our PS2 is a slimline model: It's actually totally silent. A couple if times i've forgotten to switch it off, and only remember when I see the green light lit up
I wonder what happened to Madoka? I hope I didn't scare him/her off

Oh yeah, that's what I wanted to hear!
If I have the dough at some time, I'm definitely gonna get myself a slimline PS2 then.
Btw, have you ever heard one of the original PS2 machines? Bloody noisy things. It's always bothered me somewhat, but over time the loud humming has started to really annoy me.
It's not really really loud, but it is very noticeable - you certainly would know that you had left this machine on.
Re: your save points - isn't it amazing how videogames - which are meant to entertain and provide a pleasant pastime, can cause so much anguish?
From losing/having to wait ages for saves, difficuly boss battles and fiddly stuff which takes aaaaages to complete etc. Most aggravating.
Hmm, I'd been wondering about Madoka too. I enjoy their contribution to this thread.
