I just started downloading the DVD version from AsianDVDclub, but as a Juri-chan fan I'll probably end up buying an actual copy.
I really enjoyed this movie throughout, although it seemed like I was watching some Nodame Cantabile sidestory. Sort of like, Nodame played the sax in high school then took up piano in college, while Stresseman started out as bumbling musician only to turn into a great conductor. Yeah, it was a bit strange, but cool at the same time. An all-around enjoyable movie with great music, and that boar scene was great

Funny you should mention sidestories: the two-disc edition has extras which include a number of sidestory videos to complement the main movie.

Nice, sounds pretty enticing. I took a glance at Amazon Japan's prices and the two-disc edition is probably the one I'll end up getting. That three-disc one is going for just around $100 or so, and it might take a while to save up considering I still have to complete the Nodame collection

The three-disc one is hard to come by, I believe, unless it's a reissue... thtl has that set.

It's packaging is way cool: (click to enlarge)
The two-disc set:
It looks like the three-disc set is available via Amazon Japan, though I can't tell which sellers have the new or used versions. I wouldn't even want to take a chance on a used version because I'm worried there might be an extra or two missing. It's tempting certainly and I'm in no hurry to buy the movie, so Ijust might save up for it.

Siantut, the Nodame Cantabile subber, helped me procure my set which was second hand. I paid about JPY20000 but there was a catch - a piece of negative (of the movie) which would be included in a new set was missing in mine. In any case I was only interested in the disc contents and I ended giving away the mouse omamori (charm) to a friend.

You seem to be a more forgiving person than I am If I found out I was missing something, I'd be sending it back and demanding a refund

Isn't that like 200 USD? That seems like an awful lot for a dvd set of a single movie.. yeah? At that price, it better come with Juri. _________________

Haha, it better come with Juri-chan at that price!
Well, the cheapest one I could find on Amazon Japan goes for a little over $100 or so, but I haven't the slightest idea if it's new or used. Considering thtl was missing an item, I'm definitely looking for a new copy should I decide to buy the three-disc version. Otherwise, the two-disc version will have to do.

There was no guarantee that I'll be getting the frame with my favourite character - Suzuki Tomoko (aka Juri-sama). So I don't want to go through the hassle of sending the package back and forth, especially when someone else is doing me a favour acting as the middle-man/person.

When I was searching for this item nearly a year ago, ones in pristine condition could be going for JPY50,000 or more. The ones available on Amazon are not actually from Amazon - they are from people selling it on Amazon and in most cases the seller won't ship outside of Japan, which was why I needed the help from a Japanese local.

Certainly it'd be hassle when someone else is doing you a favor, and I can understand why you wouldn't want to trouble Siantut when she was nice enough to help you obtain a copy, but in my case if I'm buying from a retailer directly then I would hope all the contents are in the package. If it's a luck of the draw concerning the negatives, then no problem really, as long as I get a negative.

Before I found the 3-disc version I saw the 2-disc one in Hong Kong, going for around USD150 bundled with one of the Swing Girl books. I forked out immediately and send the book, which I already have a copy of, to a friend.
When it comes to Juri-sama's stuff I could barely keep my hands, or rather my wallet, in my pocket.

Ah ok, that's something I didn't figure, that some sellers won't ship outside of Japan. I'll be on the lookout for that then. Thanks for the heads-up.
