I tried a couple of episodes too and couldn't really get into it.

Plus, I started to enjoy Rinjo (well I have only the first 3 episodes) except for the overly dramatic Lord of the Rings soundtrack. |
I know exactly what LOTR track you're talking about. I'm trying to figure out what instrument is being used though. Ocarina?

Like EstherM said, it happens. We all have different tastes. I remember everybody talking about how great Tiger and Dragon was. But I just couldn't get into it at all. It's still one of the few dramas that was so bad I couldn't even finish it.
If we all liked the same things life sure would be boring, ne?

I didn't think it sucked, but it had some weak points, as I mentioned earlier.

I wonder if mostly the Americans have liked it
Maybe it is an age thing? _________________

Probably not, I have read a lot of asians liking it too. I probably just got out too early, although some scenes felt awkward and unconvincing for me, the cast and the material didn't work together. It could also be because I was irritable when I was watching it.
btw, there are softsubs for Kita no Kuni Kara floating around, including English subs. Only the original series though. Anyone downloaded those raw files from d-addicts and willing to trade?

Older.
Meaning over 22.
As for Asian-American. If you were born here you are American in my opinion.
I dont call myself Slavic/Scandanavian American. _________________

LOL.
Admittedly, the subject matter is a little more complex and beyond the thinking of the younger crowd, IMO.

There are? Wow. I have only heard of the hardsubbed DVD's.
I wish there were subbed versions of the later series around too
I see you released Chinese-subbed versions at d-addicts?

Certainly beyond Yamapi, I'm thinking. _________________

Slightly off-topic, but i've heard that Yamapi has a special recording that's played 24/7 through a tiny earphone into his ear.
It says "breathe in, breathe out".

That must be mentally taxing.

The English subs are interweaved with Chinese subs so that probably means an additional line of gibberish for most people. There are a few lines missing too so I will probably fill them in before posting on d-addicts.
