At first, I wasnt really convinced by this drama because the poster and synopsis made looks flat. But in the end I downloaded it due to positive recommendations from other users. When I started watching, I was still not convinced because the actresses and actors look like average person and the first few episodes were rather boring.
But I was WRONG ! The average looking characters in this dorama is one of the main things that make this dorama great. Also this drama teaches us moral of life, to treasure, cherish and appreciate life ! I recommend others to watch this dorama ! This is tear-jerker drama :D
SUPERB family drama

This drama is very good and in some ways reminds me of Otousan, such as Natsuo having to deal with his younger sibling's issues and being helped along the way by Yuki. Also like Otousan, this drama is both very funny and very heartwarming, though it's also bittersweet. What I really like about this drama is that none of the subplots drag on for any longer than they need to, like Jun wanting to become a teacher and the fight for Chika to keep her baby. The romance between Natsuo and Yuki was sweet, charming, and heartbreaking.
I like all the characters. Natsuo is a solid character, very mature and learns how to be a father to his younger siblings even though he was really a bit too young to really be a father. However, I will say that Natsuo was at times annoying when he acted like a loud chatter box. For Tsuyoshi, this is a better role than he got in Moto Kare but I still like his character better in To Heart. Ryoko's character was cute, sweet, and really unselfish. I'm really starting to like Ryoko more and more after watching her in this drama and in the French movie, Wasabi. I was really impressed with Oguri Shun's acting in this drama as Natsuo's hearing-impaired younger brother, especially after watching him play a much different roll as a ruthless gangster in Smile. He really pulled off two rolls that couldn't be anymore different.
On the downside, I found a couple of the characters to be annoying, especially Chika and Seiji in episode 9. The ending was also a little bit too bittersweet, and I felt that this drama deserved a much better soundtrack. Moto Kare, another drama with Domoto Tsuyoshi and Hirosue Ryoko, had a much better soundtrack despite its bland story. If only Summer Snow had Moto Kare's soundtrack I would have liked this drama much more.
Still, despite some of the flaws I really liked this drama. I give it a solid 8.5/10 and recommend it to any jdrama fan.

Oh how I loved this drama. At times the characters annoyed me a little I could not relate to their actions but because of the cast and story I was able to overlook that and enjoy the drama anyway even though I want to slap the crud out of them sometimes for acting so stupid. That just means I was really into the drama and cared for the characters.

This is an outstanding drama. Hirosue Ryoko was simply amazing in it. Really the whole cats was terrific. The story is incredibly moving full of happy and sad moments.

One of the first Jdoramas I watched and still the best after dozens.
Humor and drama in just right balance. Terrific ending without the usual underlinings of the way people should live their lives. Great
actors and particularly memorable performance (her best) of
Ryoko Hirosue.
A touching masterpiece.

"Summer Snow" is a really amazing drama, even though it is really sad. Domoto Tsuyoshi, Hirosue Ryoko, Oguri Shun, and the rest of the cast and crew are outstanding. Please go see it, if you haven't.

A heart warming dorama. A caring brother and lover, Dohmoto Tsuyoshi seems to portray well in the character. Unfortunately ends with a sad ending. Life is unpredictable. Cherish people around you.

i thought that this was a very good drama, my only complaint was that i felt the ending song was really inappropriate for the episodes that ended on a sad note...

a drama that i was hesitant to watch but when i finished 1 episode i was hooked..the beauty of lkove and the kindness of family is shown here..it not only centers at a love between 2 people but also the love of a brother to his younge siblings..atop of that the ending is superb..sad yet beautiful!

this is a fantastic drama..

this is definitely 10 out of 10..
I know the story line is a bit predictable.. esp. in the last episode where natsuo disappears so suddenly..
one thing is also lacking.. why dont yuki just go to america and go back to be with natsuo again? they are just overreacting that time..
anywayss.. i always smile when natsuo and yuki got together, theyre so sweet. not too explicit in their relationship, they have not even kissed ey? the one yuki kissed in the last episode was only her imagination rite?
i hate when yuki comes to the shop finding natsuo has died.. but actually its sad and romantic at the same time.. yuki and natsuo finally dive together, with natsuo inside yuki's body ;p
this drama is the best ive seen so far.. well done ryoko chan xoxoxo

Enjoyable drama that tackled a couple of weighty issues. The ending made me cringe though.

At first I have to say I watched this drama for Oquri Shun...and after a while I thought the drama was boring but once I got to the last few episodes I started to apperciate the drama more. Tear jerker of course. It's sad what fate could do.

This was the first "omg-crying" drama Ive watched. I think the whole cast was great in this drama, especially Oguri Shun (this was the first drama he did that caught my eye (his role in GTO wasnt very signifigant) so now I randomly have oguri-shun-fangirl-mode activating every time he shows up on a screen).
I absolutely LOVEE this drama and I cried SO much, that I cant cry in "1 litre of tears".
Touching from the start to the end

I wasn't expecting this too be so much emotive, but..Um..I guess I can say that from start till end, I've cried my eyes out..
From the very beginning, I felt really touched. I immediately sympatized with the main character's family, because problems that they have would be sufficient for four families. See them struggle through their life, have fights with each other, but in the end overcome every obstacle like a family..that was really inspiring to watch.
Even if the end was kinda predictable (at least for me), still..I was unsure about anything almost till the very end. This was the first "really sadly ending dorama", which I've ever watched and it will always hold special place in my heart..

A beautiful story concerning the love between Natsuo and Yuki. Tsubasa, Chizuru and Shun were great in supporting roles, particularly Shun, who gave his best performance in this dorama IMO. The ending took me completely by surprise and the music integrated itself nicely into the series. Very very well done!
