The Three Kingdoms

About the invention in 3K, my fav will go to the juggernaut, those lion-shaped-flame-throwing-cart is pretty effective against the enemy ne(although in DW is pretty much annoying)

Irritating...but the phantom soldiers are the worst. If they can be a little more aggressive...who knows what damage can they inflict?!?But too bad that's not the case...

DW online might be a big success.I prefer a more strategic move.Such as ROTK online. It might be less action-packed but it tests the strategy employed by each person...great way to humilate someone with no knowledge about war strategies.

I much prefer playing DW online rather than ROTK onlinr because that way people involved with the game will be more abundant,

I wonder why tactician always use fan for their weapon of choice??

Well tacticans are clever after all so anything only than a harmless weapon will look awkward on them.Imagine Zhuge Liang holding Lu Bu's Lunar Spear and vice versa...that will be hilarous!!!Even a sword doesn't look nice on them...the only exception coming from Zhou Yu and Cao Cao..but they knows something about fighting as well...so they belong to a different category.

@ThyGriever:May I request more more of those hilarous comic strips on the Three Kingdoms? They bring about a sense of humor into that troubled era...and it's rather cute how the artists twisted the events!!!

Yup, Zhou Yu and cao cao has the brain and brawn skills, thats really an asset in 3K

uhh... if you guys trend this thread towards the game more than the historical aspects, its going to be merged w/ the existing game thread.

krim wrote:uhh... if you guys trend this thread towards the game more than the historical aspects, its going to be merged w/ the existing game thread.

hmm.. for me its rather hard to purely disscuss because I learn the history through the game :bonk: :bonk: :beatyou: :beatyou: :bonk: :bonk:

but for me, I don't have any objection this thread going to be merged as long as I could still discuss it,(at first I'm wonder why b-kun lock the sengoku jidai but not this one) its up to you moderator-sama

haha Lu Bu's bot! Imagine going online and getting a team of your friends (lets assume 3) and trying to beat down Lu Bu with a triple team. And you all get your asses handed back to you :beaten:

And yea, that Jugernaught is annoying as heck. You fly across the screen everytime it hits you..

in the pc game version, I heard you can mod anycharacter to have any character's weapon. Xiao Qiao can hanve Meng Huo's weapons and Zhuge Liang could probably have Lu Bu's weapon..

Here's some comics, i'll post more in a bit. I thought no one cared  These are some of the funniest comics i've ever seen with great art/color.

So... that's how Zhang Jiao dye those turbans :hehe:

Thanks ThyGriever for the comics!!!It's interesting and add some humor to this thread!!!

@krim:Go-me-na-sai!!!I will try my best to add more historical aspects!!!In this case some of our viewers had vague knowledge of the Three Kingdoms, just some gained from playing the game.I find that that's a good way to learn something because any doubts or comments they had in the game they can find out about the true events that happened here.So sorry once again!!!

i personally think that without Zhang Jiao, Yellow Turban Rebellion, there will be no Three Kingdoms. The opening of Three Kingdom, and it was because of him that the alliance has founded. Speaking of the alliance, at first everyone supported Cao Cao to be the leader, but he intro Yuan Shao to be instead. Thus, making Yuan Shao eye red.
Well, there's no right or wrong in this rebellion. because they started the rebellion because of the corrupt government, heavy taxes on the ppls.... and i really think it's better if they win the war. But... althought he had larger forces, but he had no experience in wars, planning plots, so the defeat of him is expected. Talents, like Cao Cao, Liu Bei.. of course they win for sure. The Yellow Turbans, however, were still a strong threat until the death of Zhang Jiao, when, due to a lack of a good leader, it imploded on itself.

*maybe they lost because their Turbans no longer had Zhang Jiao's special dye* :hehe: jk jk

Jaegal_Maut wrote:Now its my turn to raise the question, what's your fav moment in three kindom??

the execution of Guan Yu :shamefulcry:

Zhang Jiao or Zhang Jue (140-188) (Simplified Chinese: 张Šp; Traditional Chinese: ’£Šp) was the leader of the Yellow Turbans during the period of the late Eastern Han Dynasty in China. He was said to be a sorcerer, and was a follower of Taoism

i can't find any of his real-life pic so i posted, as he appears in Dynasty Warriors 5:

Why don't we discuss nanman rebellion under meng huo?? I'm really intrigued by Nanman because Nanman use elephant in battles as rides, that really could take anybody out with just small ram but very slow and very vulnerable to archer..

oh yes.... that fat guy :hehe: Big forest, Big Elephants :hehe: not to mention the sexy wife of his
the rebellion by local governors and intrusions by the Nanman ("southern barbarians") made Zhuge Liang personally led the Shu generals south from Chengdu to suppress the rebellion with full preparations. And he capture and release Meng Huo a total of seven times. :applaud:

Info from Wikipedia :
it was Yong Kai (è´闓), an officer of the Three Kingdoms Period that was the prefect of Jian Ning started the Rebellion. Yong Kai killed Zheng Ang (³V), the Grand Administrator of Jianning (Œš”J), and kidnapped Zhang Yi (’£åá) to Eastern Wu, still an enemy of Shu at the time. Yong Kai then, joined by Gao Ding (‚’è) of the Lao and Grand Administrator of Zangke, Zhu Bao (Žé–J), called Meng Huo, a local aristocrat, to lure the southern tribes into revolting because the tribes did not trust Yong Kai. Meng Huo made up stories about Shu Han giving the tribes impossible demands, thus the tribes became angry at Shu Han and joined the rebellion as well.

He said :
"I heard that the sky has no two suns, and the land has no two kings. Now the lands are split into three with each claiming to be the absolute, the distant rests uneasy, not knowing who to follow."

Obviously! Only Zhang Jiao could make something with the right... scent... LOL I'll put up more comics but none have MEng Huo (i wanted to go on topic) lol i'll just shove on some more random stuff

this is a joke, Sha Moke's movelist. I found it lying around.

*doesn't look too ugly???*

Name: Shamoke

Moves:
Attacks 1-X: A series of impotent slaps, ending with a fart that does damage in a small radius.
Jump Attack: Shamoke farts in mid-air, damaging anyone in a small radius.

Charge 1: Shamoke sits down and picks his nose, farting occasionally. Anyone nearby is damaged by both stench and sheer incompetence. This repeats until he is hit out of it.
Charge 2-X: Shamoke does slightly more damaging slaps, farting with each for minor damage to a small radius.
Jump Charge: Shamoke dive-bombs the earth to let out a longer fart with a greater radius.

Musou: Shamoke lets out a colossal fart, making anyone around turn tail and run, and giving Shamoke a chance at a free back-of-the-headshot.
True Musou: Same as his Musou, only the back-of-the-headshots are automatic and cost no arrows.

Archery: His arrows do ridiculous damage IF THEY HIT FROM BEHIND. Otherwise, they're as useless as anything else Shamoke is capable of.

Duels: Shamoke automatically craps his pants at the start of any duel, and cowers in fear during it. He takes even worse damage than usual, and Zhou Tai can kill him in one hit.

From Wiki:
Shamoke, Sha Moke or Shamo Ke (¹–€žh) was a barbarian Shu general during the period in China known as the Three Kingdoms Period (220-280), originally being the leader of the local tribesmen (the Mang), along with being the king of the Wuqi-man. He is described in the historical novel Romance of the Three Kingdoms (in the battle of Yi Ling) as below:

His face was spotted with red as if splashed with blood, and his eyes were green and big. He rushed among Gan Ning's troops wielding a spiked iron mace with bone pendants, and he had two bows slung at his belt. He was terrible to look upon.

In the next paragraph he shoots the ill Wu general Gan Ning in the back of the head with an arrow and kills him. Later on in the battle he was attacked by fire and fled, where he was pursued by Zhou Tai who caught up and cut him down.

Since the killing scene is so important (for Gan Ning and Zhou Tai), I suggest that in DW6, when they make character story lines, there should be a cutscene along with a mission. For instance, if you play Zhou Tai, it'll show a scene where Gan Ning is killed, then your objective is to start the fire then eliminate him. Sounds cool!

More comics to come :hehe:
