@Before it was recorded, Tsurube(MC) met Tamaki-kunfs mother and Juri-chan. But in the show we could only see a picture of the back shot of his mother and a picture from Nodame. The following are from the show:

I went to see Manatsu no Orion yesterday morning and it was so moving to me.
Although itfs a war movie, therefs no bloody scene. Both US and Japanese soldiers were doing their best to survive. I didnft feel any hatred or nationalism from it. It was kind of gquieth and neutral.(I know itfs strange to use gquieth for a war movie.)
I remember Tamaki-kun said many times that it portrays not the sorrow of dying but the hope of living.

But to most of his fans here it will be sad to see his skinny look. He looked so different from Chiaki. At the beginning I thought he didnft have to be that skinny, however, now I understand why he made such an effort at losing his weight for this movie... I liked his role and acting very much. :applaud: Iffm goint to see it again soon though I didnft feel like it when I saw KIDS and Midnight Eagle. :beaten:

Once a local TV station reported that he dated Yoshitaka Yuriko, a costar in Love Shuffle. (Shefs 9 years younger than he!) She looks like his type. :mrgreen:

I just watched Nodame Cantabile 2 weeks ago and instantly fell in love with Tamaki Hiroshi through the role of Chiaki Senpai. I didn't know him prior to Nodame. Don't recall him even though I have watched and loved GTO many years ago. I have watched many Japanese dramas in the past but have never been addicted to a male actor like this. I started looking for every link about him on the internet. But got so disappointed by his skinny look (couldn't recognize him and couldn't accept it initially). :shamefulcry: Thank you for all your posts on this site. Got to know him better through many of your dedicated posts and translations. :applaud: It is wonderful to find all these info regarding Tamaki Hiroshi. Thank you. I will be very happy and proud if he indeed lost his weight for the sake of better portrayal of his characters in the movies. That is something very admirable.

Yes, me too!! (as for me, not instantly but after watching Nodame several times) There are no Tamaki fans who don't like Chiaki.

He started the diet last November if I'm not mistaken. And since then all his roles had been required to be thin...

During the shooting of these, he had to play Sakamoto Ryoma in Atsuhime. The role of Ryoma didn't need to be that skinny, but he couldn't stop the diet till those shootings were over.

The problem is, he seems he can't get his weight back easily.(I envy him. I get fat easily.)
Although he looks round one day, he looks skinny next day....His looks change every day... :sweat: This morning he looked nice. He's going to leave for Europe very soon.(Or has he left already?) I hope he will keep his Chiaki look throughout the stay in Europe.

haha! the first time I saw him, I thought he was remotely related to Gackt.. he's got poses that makes him look like Gackt..

and, the skinny look, probably because he's kinda on the thin side.. and maybe also because of the clothes..

Hello everyone! I saw Nodame Cantabile a few weeks ago and I must say, the show has gained another fan :woot:. Not only that, but I have to commend Tamaki Hiroshi's awesome portrayal of Chiaki-sempai and I think that no other actor could play Chiaki-sempai's role other than him *ok, that point is bit biased :bonk:*. Added to that, he and Ueno Juri have so much great chemistry that oftentimes, I find myself hoping that they'd end up together in real life. Haha! But of course, I'll be happy for him even if he's with someone else who could make him happy. :)

I haven't watched his other works other than the above-mentioned show but based on the opinions and news posted here, I think he is indeed a versatile entertainer. And I want thank you (the other posters in this thread) for spending your time posting some articles, news translations, pictures, etc. to keep everyone updated. Kudos to you! :D

I watched the Renai Shousetsu movie last week and i think Tamaki looked a bit skinny there too, especially his face! I guess Tamaki, whenever he's got a job of a rather introvertive character, would try to lose weight to show his less assertive.. or even dark side. You know what i mean?
