I'm sure ppl here have seen Ghost in the Shell - Stand alone Complex as well as Ghost in the Shell - SAC 2nd GIG....man, i really enjoyed the complexity and richness of the plot, in terms of action and philosophical themes, presented in both these projects....

Sup, Eve...been a while since I seen you around these parts! Good to hear from you.

Yeah for me Morita-san was the star attraction....wildly funny character....but the chemistry of the overall cast ~ great.

Hey there, Tu~

Been partying in real life. Fun!
Trying to hook a friend on anime, easing him in with Crying Freeman, the dubbed version. Dont know if I'll have any luck, though the drama Umizaru about the Japanese Coast Guard was a big hit! :dancing:
Still finding time to keep up with NAruto. :smitten: Wish Kakashi-sensei had a bit more air time though. :shamefulcry: Yakitate is still going strong too. Makes me hungry though.
I heard H&C had a second series. Anyone know about that?

well it's good to know you are enjoying reality! :) enjoy your animated diversions...too bad you don't live on the west coast...i haven't gone for years, but the Anime Expo this summer in So. Cal. is looking to break all previous attendance records....all the convention hotel rooms are even sold out apparently.

hmmm....yeah as far as H&C II, aside from the fact that project has been confirmed i haven't heard any other info.

A Variety article on Hollywood anime adaptations revealed new details on several upcoming productions:

Since 1997, Hollywood has been acquiring major anime properties like "Sailor Moon," about a group of young girls gifted with magical powers and skimpy costumes; "Speed Racer," a '60s series about a heroic racecar driver; and "Battle Angel Alita," in which a skull-cracking female cyborg searches for her past.

...

Dozens of projects are already rumbling into production. Weta is attached to "EVA" and already started creating concept art. James Cameron is directing "Battle Angel," and he's spent the past 10 months developing the technology necessary to bring it to the bigscreen. "Pet Shop of Horrors," another Tokyopop project that's a "Twilight Zone"-esque series about a mysterious pet store, is set up with Rogue Pictures, and even Roy Lee is developing a TV series based on the acclaimed "Witch Hunter Robin" anime.

Yeah, sometimes they put only like 4-6 episodes on a dvd-9 disc when they could put as much as 8 episodes there. Such a waste of disc space :shakehead: . Are the sequels (reload and gunlock) included in that set?

most of the DVD's i have are 3 episodes each. I even have a few that are 2 eps... they could put up to 5 easily with a few extras, but they dont usually do it.
Thats kind of why i stopped buying them.

What? Only 2 episodes? Man, the videos must be of really good quality  . I have dvds that have 4 episodes in it, the video is probably compressed, but still the quality is good. Oh well, these dvds that I have are bootleg stuff anyway :beaten:

well, i went in AX'04 and AX'05, and the registration was hell....the disorganization and the 4 plus hour long waits in line were hideous...

but this year, if you can do it online, and very little wait in line...seems unreal, but if that is the case...i am really considering registering and going this year.
