Details about the Ghost in the Shell - Stand Alone Complex Movie

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex Solid State Society, a full length movie based on Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex is currently planned for completion in the summer of 2006.

The production announcement does not specifically state release format, or date. The movie is being produced in Hi-Vision, a format used by Japanese broadcast networks to support wide-screen televisions. The same production team, including main staff, will be carried over from the TV series. The budget, while not specified, is said to be higher in order to achieve a cinematic level of production.

The 100-minute (tentative running time) movie takes place in 2034, two years after the refugee riot incident. A significantly larger Section 9, with over 20 new officers, investigates terrorist actions related to a wizard-like hacker gKugutsu Mawashi.h

(Kugutsu Mawashi translated into English is roughly "Puppet Master." Kugutsu Mawashi is not the same as the "Puppet Master" from the first Ghost in the Shell Movie. In Japanese, the "Puppet Master" from the first movie was called "Ningyo Tsukai" which can also translated into "Puppet Master.")

The production committee will comprise Production I.G., along with Bandai Visual, Bandai Entertainment, Dentsu Corporation, Nihon TV Broadcasting (NTV), Manga Entertainment, Tokuma Publishing, and Victor Entertainment.

hmm.. hard question to answer...

yes i enjoyed watching it. It's got a few good parts... the story overall is well done in the anime.

I assume you know mostly what it's about, so i wont put things in spoiler tags. I watched it 1.5 times, sort of, and I noticed they left one or two of the zodiacs out. That bothered me I think they only showed 10 of them, not including yellow hair.
There's a few places in the latter episodes where the mood changes, and I found some annoying parts of how the story was executed. Not having read the manga, i dont know if this is a reflection of the actual manga or not.

I know alot of people give it a 9 or 10/10, but i'd give it a high 7, or low 8. Expect less and your rating may go higher.

I read some of the manga. Starting from where the anime was nearing the end and a couple vols. after that. The rest of the Zodiac animals were revealed  It looks like the anime followed the manga very close, but in the last DVD, some of the eps went out of order compared to the manga  The manga is a lot of reading compared to others so i think thats what threw me off from continue reading it :beaten:

I'm hoping they do continue making the anime for this. I love this serie. Its by far my favorite anime

finished Hikaru no Go.. pretty good overall.

didn't finish well though, i thought... i figured Hikaru would get into a league tourny at least in the end... i was wrong.
i could do without the teen angst and self pity episodes... probably cause im no longer in the target age group.

Ah, excellent, you finished that one :)

hehe, some of the filler eps got in the way of the main story (Isumi's China trip), but I loved the ending (and i know a lot of ppl didn't - just a matter of opinion)

as for the league tournament, you might want to watch the Hikaru no Go Special 2004 - that goes into the team selection for the Korean-China-Japan tournament - Shindou's in the Honinbou league for that one if i remember correctly

yes, i totally expected the tournament to show itself... i figured there'd be some specials, ill just have to look for them.

the ending isn't bad per se, i just like a definative ending... unless there's a sequel, i dont like the story to hang.

you may like it more if you were a Hilary Duff fan just entering HS.

yeah, typically, i don't like loose endings either, but i guess i made a special case for this one, just felt more appropriate to end that way IMHO

my fav character aside from Shindou is Honinbou - that old geezer's somewhat mysterious and he's got style :hehe:
