I was able to watch Hikaru no Go in one of the local channel here in the country, and it really caught my interest. When you look at it, it looks kinda simple because the anime is centered on a board game, but its simplicity and uniqueness is what makes it more interesting. I think the one I saw earlier was already episode 12, that is why I'm gonna download this series to be able to watch the first few episodes and watch the following ones too. :bonk:
And oh yeah, because of this now I know where Shindou got his username.
HnG is one of the greatest shows ever, with an awesome soundtrack and it's one of those shows that always ends with a cliffhanger and makes you want more: it's in my alltime favorite top 10 shows.
I was so hooked when it was being subbed 4 years ago, every week we'd camp the channel of [E-F] :hehe: good times...
Neon Genesis Evangelion (although this one is a bit heavy...)
Ranma 1/2 (You'll laugh until you piss in your pants)
School Rumble (Same as above)
Angel Sanctuary (Beautifu artwork!)
Naruto (I have watched only the beginning, but it looks good, and it's one of the most popular animes out there)
Bleach (Great plot with many twists and turns, and a cast of very interesting characters. Cool too!)
Mai-HIME (It gets stranger as it progresses, but it's worthwhile to see until the end)
Elfen Lied (Not for the faint-hearted. This is one sick anime, but strangely addictive)
Gundam Wing (Old, but classic for mecha fans)
Death Note (A new anime, looks very interesting from what I've seen. A quite original idea.)

the final epi of NHK is just great for a christmas gift! could there be a second season?? well anyways i'm satisfied w/ the ending...but still i want more!!!
On episode 10 of Whistle.
Im enjoying it. Has the feel of Hajime No Ippo. The characters are nicely developed. The main boy Kazamatsuri manages to not be too cute, and the cool boys are.....cool.
The lady coach and girl manager are totally lame but so goes it... :beaten:
Anime Dad wrote:My torrent of GITS:SAC finally completed on Christmas day... after about 2 weeks..... Happy Christmas to me!
it's a great piece of fiction with a suspenseful, intelligent storyline that makes the action THAT much better. one of my favorite animes....much better than either ghost in the shell movie.
I listened to an mp3 of a radio documentary called Japan's Pop Power the other day. It is mostly about the influence of Japanese culture (anime and manga) in the west - an interesting listen. Mp3 available from http://www.oldmanmusings.com/2006/12/11/japans-pop-power/
I'd like to find more radio documentaries like that, if I could.
