No, I am from the UAE. :victory:

OT: Re-watching Death Note, I don't like any of the currently airing anime. =T

I am still obsessed with Naruto Shippuden. Ive watched up to ep 40 on Crunchyroll with only LQ as my laptop is older. :puppydog:

But it is worth it. :beaten: I am a Kakashi fan.
I watched about 10 eps of Death Note, it was interesting.

How does it compare to the live action?

I couldn't make it past episode 2 of the anime version... Didn't seem to have the same energy or spirit...

it's not the same... they still frame lots of parts..

I actually like the anime better :beaten: I'm probably in the minority.
I guess I didn't really like the color palette of the live action, and it's not really that one has more energy or spirit than the other, just a different interpretation from the directors.

I think the live action feels "shoujo," while the anime feels "josei"

I enjoyed the 1st season NC anime a lot...

Pros...

Excellent OP and ED...

More classical music than the drama (understandable since it was longer)...

Nodame's seiyuu absolutely nailed the voice...better than Juri...not surprising though, the seiyuu's credentials are awesome...just found out she was the voice of Mahoro in Mahoromatic, one of my favorite animes...

Cons...

As Krim said, lots of still frames...pan and scan....

Finished Nodame.
It was great.
Liked it even more than the live action! :applaud:
Chiaki-kun was a more sympathetic character in the anime and less of a caricature. THere could certainly have been fewer still frames.

Now I need NC 2. Anyone interested in some kind of trade....

Anyone ever seen The Third?

They started broadcasting it with subtitles on digital 18.2 last Saturday and it's pretty interesting so far....

HAve started watching Saiunkoku Monogatari.
Looks to be done by the folks who did Fushigi Yugi.
Only seen the first ep but so far so good. The artwork is lovely. :victory:

Yeah, not very often, but this one did interest me, so I thought I'd try to catch all 24 episodes... :)

Really? That's interesting.
Post apocalypse themes dont grab me often..
I lack the depth.... ;)

On ep 3 of Saiunkoku Monogatari.
The lot is surprisingly absorbing.

I've started to watch K-On!
I'm in the mood for something a bit light, but entertaining.

It sounds like fun. Let me know what you think as it goes.

Im really hooked on the series I started the other night, Saiunkoku Monogatari. The artwork is so lovely. I love these semi-historical chinese theme animes like Twelve Kingdoms. Ive watched up through ep 6. and really enjoying the political plot line.

If you're referring to the Paris Chapter of the anime, I have it and wouldn't mind trading. I guess you can PM me with the details since I've never traded with anyone here before.

I'm here in this thread trying to get suggestions for anime movies to watch. It's been a while since I've watched any anime, so if anyone has any suggestions it'd be much appreciated. I'll read through the thread as well and see if anything piques my interest.

Sorry for the lack of movies suggestions. I watch series almost exclusively.

Am already on ep 8 of Saiunkoku Monogatari.
What a little gem of a story.

Isn't Miyazaki's new film, Ponyo going to be out soon?

They're screening it down here as part of some film festival... :)
