Guess you weren't the only one:
"JIN" finale exceeds 25%
The ratings are in for the popular TBS drama series "JIN." The show's final episode, which aired on Sunday night, averaged an impressive 25.3% in the Kanto region, setting the record for a television drama on a commercial network this year.
Before this, the highest rating for a drama on a commercial network was the first episode of "MR.BRAIN," which achieved 24.8% during its broadcast in May. However, despite breaking the 20% ratings mark with five of its episodes, "JIN" averaged just slightly over 19.0% in its complete 11-episode run, falling short of both "MR.BRAIN" (20.5%) and "Kyumei Byoto 24 Ji" (19.2%).
I've been enjoying the drama a lot.....for me, it's just pure entertainment. Good drama to watch after a stressful day. I'm waiting for the finale w/subs to be uploaded somewhere.
I wish I were as sophisticated as many of you who know how to d/l dramas, etc. otherwise I'd be doing the same. Is there a JDorama topic on how to do this?

You mean BitTorrent?

Also, there's help over at D-Addicts as well. :)
Thanks!!
As far as a sequel, I'm not too sure. It might be interesting to have Sakamoto Ryoma and Saki be "beamed" to the future but how would they accomplish that as far as the story is concerned.

my only grouse is that it has so many characters with complex relationships that it flows like a Taiga production, punctuated with a few historical characters. I was really confused by the rank and file.
Ayase Haruka was overshadowed by Nakatani Miki's charm. Her role is merely an accessory, just like the one in Mr Brain.
Yeah, I wouldn't say I though the ending was terrible. It's just like others have pointed out, it left a lot of questions. I'm guessing it was purposely done this way, in case they decide to go for a second season or movie.
i love the autumn landscape
i hate the fire (poor Miki)
i love the costume
i hate surgery scenes aka spaghetti scenes
i love those computer graphic-generated sceneries
i hate the cholera
i love Ryoma's scenes
i hate to know the real Yoshiwara really did put hapless women behind the grilles like zoo animals!!!

Yup, I think they're setting us up for a sequel. But overall, I really liked this one a lot! :applaud:
:fingerscrossed: hopefully weLll get a sequel or a movie.
One thing seems very likely though: Spoiler — click to revealThe Nokaze-Miki story arc appears to be resolved - Nokaze drops out of JinLs life to start a school and her descendant Miki becomes a teacher. Will there be still a need for Nakatani Miki to appear in a sequel except as a fanservice to us fans?
Over the last 2 days I watched the entire drama (I love long weekends). I thought overall, this was a very good drama, but I think it may have been a little too slow in a few places.
I agree that the Cholera scenes were tough to watch.
As for the end
Spoiler — click to revealdefinitely see a sequel and/or movie, just too many unanswered questions, does the good Doctor finally get with Saki? Do we ever find out about the tumor/fetus, who was the guy in the bandages...I need to know.
JIN will be made into a movie as announced by TBS on 28 January 2010. The filming will begin this summer and the movie is scheduled to be screened in 2011. TBS received a lot of requests for a movie after the drama ended in December 2009 thus the decision was made in accordance with viewers' wishes. The cast for the movie will be the same as the drama.
so, there won't be season 2 but they decided to make a movie. As long as it answer all the questions that were left behind in the final episode, I can live with that
yay! :dancing:
