I installed SCGT but it kept crashing on startup until I switched compatibility mode to Win98.

EDIT: And you can't drive a car with the arrow keys. :beaten:

Probably going to wait a little before picking up the new Medal of Honor, so I can see how it is first. Was burned by the steaming pile that was Modern Warfare 2, and don't want to repeat the $60 mistake.

The new Medal of Honor looks nice, but I haven't played any games in the series since Allied Assault. There was a commercial for the new game that aired a couple of times during the game tonight; looks like they're really pushing this game.

I have yet to play either of the Modern Warfare games but from your take, I'm not missing out on the second

BMW, racing with arrow keys is the last resort heh. Do any keys work for that game? I would imagine a PC game regardless of genre would have some kind of keyboard support. Well, once you hook up the steering wheel it shouldn't be a problem.

I wasn't kidding about the arrow keys: left, right, up (accelerate), down (brake)... Spent a lot of time crashing into the barriers.

Ironically, the last Medal of Honor game I played was also Allied Assault, on my PC. The first Modern Warfare game was excellent. The right combination of story flow, plot, gameplay, and music. It had lazy programming, but the flow of the game kept it subdued. The second game, on the other hand, went full retard. Horrible plot, absolutely no flow through the game, tons of noticeably lazy programming, huge quality difference from one level to another, and so on. It's like nobody talked with each other when making it, and all that mattered was they had Hollywood actors and composers working on it. The graphics were great, for the most part, but that's it. And at only 3 hours of gameplay on the hardest setting, what a waste of $60. I think it's a testament to standards of the current generation of gamers that companies pander to that made this game sell so many copies.

Getting a hang of the keyboard driving yet?

Kijinnmaru, I think I'll skip out on Modern Warfare considering I haven't played it yet and don't have much inclination to do so. Your take on it sounds like what I hear from others who played both games. I suppose a game with big set pieces, Hollywood actors and composers will do the trick when it comes to sales.

I've been reading some reviews of the new Medal of Honor and it's not looking good.

It's looking crap, actually. For all the money and the hype, the reviews look mixed a best.

Not at all.

If real cars were like this, I'd be walking to and from work.

It's almost like playing Gran Turismo with the d-pad.

Speaking of that game, it's been delayed yet again, to this "holiday season" which for all I know could be January 1st.

I suppose it isn't a bad thing really, considering I can finish up a few games while I wait.

FAAAAAAAAAACK. :cursing: That's the one game I actually pre-ordered. Boo! Oh well. I guess the next potential release I'm looking forward to is Black Ops.

I dunno about all that but I personally think MW2 is outstanding. This game surely warrants the $60 price tag. If you only play single mode then, yeah, don't go buy it right off the shelf. Rent it or wait a few months for a used copy or when it drops in price. There's a two player co-op mode and the awesome online multiplayer. Multiplayer is where it's at and the reason why paying $60 is worth it. I've actually spent a total of 35+ days and counting playing multiplayer. I've played MOH/Battlefront but MW2 is way more polished. I've recommended this game to my Japanese friends and they are hooked online. One of them is female and she's addicted. "She's addicted...addicted" NWA Anyway, I think this game is class and I'm looking forward to next month's release of Black Ops.

My opinion is based solely on the single player. That's what I judge every game on because that's what is being sold. To me, online multiplayer is a side show that I won't even factor in when judging the quality of a game. It's what you do to make up the rest of the time after you've beaten the game. And no online head to head game is worth $60 in my opinion because it's just a shell of the actual game.

I'll enjoy it more when I get my steering wheel and pedals set up... The arrow keys aren't doing it for me. :bleh:

Yeah that's tough. I have an abacus controller that is optimized for driving games.
