Shingo and Yuko will be promoting the drama live in Mezamashi, other news programs and IiTomo!! Then, there's SMAPxSMAP live too... waa... Shingo will be busy on this day!

I really want to know how the story goes, coz all the media seems to make a big deal of that the drama will be as big as Hitotsu Yane no Shita (Under The Same Roof). Then, Shingo said, he cannot spoil much of the story, coz there will be a shocking happening even from the 1st episode.

Oh, when Shingo was asked what kind of image of ROSE, pops up to his head. He said, "Rose is just too KAKKOII(cool), coz its too kakkoii, it doesn't match my image,". Haha... aw, Shingo...

Ehh... Vanessa, I've posted about this in the previous page (Page 1249) :mrgreen: Kimura's message to Matsu was, "Medetai(congratulations)! Medetai! Medetai!". It was the very first message from celebrity that was revealed in the media, one day after the marriage.

This is not something Kimura write specially for Matsu-Sahashi, but this message is something automatically sent to any celebrities who gets married, whenever Kimura's message is asked. Probably his manager sent the fax for him... with or without his notice.

Kimura once explained about this "medetai" congratulatory message, in WUS. This is the transcript:

MESSAGE: (18 yr old, Kana) Hello captain! My sister is getting married next month. Please give her a shout out of congratulations.

(takuya shout) The sister of Kana from Miyagi-ken.. Congratulations for your marriage!!! Congrats, congrats, congrats!! Is that good enough? It doesn't say the name of her older sister so I don't know.. But I usually write congrats {"medetai" has a deeper meaning in Japanese- like "something to be celebrated/happy about"} three times on telegrams (that get read out at the wedding) so this is what I did.

Let's return to the message:
I was wondering if you attend your friends' weddings. Having captain attend a wedding is much like a dorama.
Actually I have never attended a real formal wedding. So I have never done a speech or anything.

But I always do send a shout out telegram with "congrats" three times.
It has a meaning for me.
The first two congrats is for the bride and groom respectively. The third one is for the future - the time they spend together, and the bond between them.

Usually the reaction I hear from the bride and groom is positive. They say it's simple and good. (laughs)

At the wedding, they'll announce that a telegram has arrived from Kimura Takuya. And everyone gets really excited. They read it out - "It says: congrats, congrats, congrats. over." (laughs) It's simple and very good. So now I shared the meaning I put behind the "congrats". So those who liked it, please go ahead and use it.

On smapxsmap it's really frequent when a staff member gets married. Usually when this happens, the staff always comes up to us to sign the card with a comment for the bride and groom. They do this so often. And we have a talk with the bride and groom filmed on a VTR like on Countdown TV. Actually there are times when someone we don't really know well gets married.. It's easy the first minute when we are congratulating them but then it gets difficult to continue the conversation. So at those times we just follow the smap-like way and go with the flow in the talk.

Synopsis of Episode 1

Shiomi Eiji (Katori Shingo) is a hard-worker man who manages a small flower shop, while raising his little daughter alone. He lives a simple life together with his daughter. His 8 years old daughter, Shizuku, is a healthy child and goes to school everyday.

One day, he come across a blind lady, Shirato Mio (Takeuchi Yuko), who was sheltering herself from the rain below his shop's eaves. Naturally, he invited her to come inside the shop, but Mio refused stating that she doesn't need his sympathy. Strangely, the two first met is full of misunderstandings...

Right on that moment, Shizuku's teacher, Ono Yuki (Shaku Yumiko) called Eiji, so he run to the school immediately. Recently, Shizuku has been going to school with her head covered by a paperbag. Eiji thought there must be a big problem, but when he enter the classroom, he sees something unexpected...

A 71 years old lady, Hishida Keiko (Ikeuchi Junko), Eiji's benefactor who has taught him knowledge about flowers, tries to talk to Shizuku about it, but it didn't get to a conclusion.

On that night, when Eiji delivered a flower bouquet to a host club, he met a young man, Kudo Naoya (Matsuda Shota), one of the host, who were blamed and attacked by his co-workers. Eiji who cannot stay quiet when he sees this, helped him and invited him to his small house.

Now, in the house, there are Eiji, Shizuku, Mio who gets along immediately with Shizuku, Naoya who becomes a freeloader in the house, and Keiko who comes once in awhile, they all unexpectedly has come to live under the same roof together. Adding the master of the cafe across the flower shop who is also the flower shop's guarantor because he believes in Eiji, is Shijo Kengo (Terajima Susumu), and Yuki-sensei, Shizuku's teacher, the story will show different kinds of love.

Meanwhile, a big hospital's president, Anzai Teruo (Tomokazu Miura), has been aftering Eiji desperately. What is he chasing Eiji for?

Very informative post Yanie! I have to admit, I haven't read what exactly this dorama is about, only knew who was playing the roles and I'm intrigued that takeuchi will be playing a blind woman. Shingo looks great with a darker color hair, makes him look younger (in my eyes!) Thanks for the info! :woot:
