Regarding the Kazuya news, if the article report his increasing popularity base on his latest drama "Sapuri" then I said the person who wrote the article is very misinformed. The champion drama last season in terms of rating is "My Boss My Hero" and "Sapuri" rating was far from impressive. Yes, I admit Kazuya is among the more famous rising Johnnys idols now along will Yamashita Tomohisa but there is no way anyone in my opinion that can achieve what Takuya had achieved througout his career. Although I admit currently Takuya is not as immensely popular as he was during his peak(dun kill me) but saying that he is not famous anymore is just no correct. Just look at his "Engine" and "Hero Special" rating which pull in an impressive 30.0% ratings which I dun recall see any other dramas pulling off such a high result in recent years. Sometimes it is better to ignore this type of article as results and numbers will tell fact.
Lastly, SMAP will performing "Arigatou" on Music Station on the 13th of October. Incidentally that day is a Friday the 13th.
takuya is definitely more popular than those juniors.. its like comparing ayumi hamasaki with all the new rising singers like koda kumi etc. who would say that ayumi is less popular? we should say stars like ayumi and Kimura Takuya are FAMOUS. the two great stars are definitely popular and have a HUGE, SUPPORTIVE fan base.
popularity comes when an artiste produce a new production etc music, dramas. when production stops, the heat is gone. takuya right now does not have new dramas, so the craze is slightly lower compared to times when he has new dramas. but im sure he is definitely famous for who he is.. the chinese papers always dubbed him as –œl–À ( meaning idol for millions of people), a title only Takuya has.
AND when he has a new drama again, i AM SURE his fans would go crazy again. i believe Takuya ( and smap) fans are a loyal group.
the media cant expect the fan base to be all enthu and high ALL the time when their idols do not have any new work.
by the way.. kazuya is not the only one compared to takuya. there's a recent article saying one of the WaT members is more popular than takuya (which is a load of crap) :crazy:
i must empathize again that : no one can be compared to takuya =) he is just DIFFERENT. ( it is just like comparing madonna with beyonce)

kazuya is SO DIFFERENT from Takuya in terms of looks and style. it is impossible for anyone to surpass the career Takuya has built over so MANY years. it takes time.. :bleh:
