Yes, even though it will make me look geeky, it's not my fault that the current wave of cellphones are ugly and total ripoffs from eachother :hehe:
Samsungs latest clamshells and slidephones look uglier than their predecessors. Before this I owned Sony-Ericsson T630, K750. those are fine phones, but the upcoming models don't add anything. cept for Cybershot/Carl Zeiss lens- I really don't want my phone turn into a better camera and pay big bucks for it. The Walkman models are ugly too IMO.

So I turned to look at smartphones instead, friend of mine owned the S100 - it looked nice, but I never wanted one. had a hard time choosing between the Mio and the Qtek S200 (aka i-Mate JAMin or Orange SPV M600)

but the Mio A701 is the only smartphone with built in GPS :victory:

I think the smartphones will be become even more popular now, leaving no room for UMTS at all.

you have many more options than us in the States...the cellular telephone technology is woefully behind Europe and Asia in terms of variety of devices and depth of service (i.e. functionality, speed of data transfers, etc)

when i went to japan about a year and half ago i saw so many cool phones but none of them were GSM compatible with US cell phone networks... :shamefulcry:

good luck on a tough choice

Yeah, you see all those cool flip phones in all those movies/doramas. Sadly they are all imode (or UMTS?) phones.

I'm not too sure whether you guys in the US are behind with technology, we do have imode and umts over here, but nobody wants it. Not to mention the available phones for it are just ugly.

Buhahahaha, haven' seen one of these for many years. I remember when I was in elementary school we had an antique Pravetz 8 comps supplied with such devices. To load some program we had to keep it tilted at exact position, keep the flap shut with other hand and had another to bang it and tying to fix the interface cable...

trust me, we are behind....most American cities don't even have 3G networks installed for cell phone use....

Origami DVD Player
[image]

The Origami DVD Player is a portable DVD player concept that could be manufactured with a new e-paper (a full-color flexible display technology) being developed by Mag-Ink in Israel. As a product, it would target the business traveler who wants a convenient way to watch DVD movies. For this user, portability is a key requirement, but they are not interested in sacrificing their viewing experience and are willing to invest extra money for a higher quality product.

USB Hot Plate With 4-Port Hub
READ MORE: Gadgets, HUB, Hot Plate, Peripherals, USB
Unliked the semi-useless USB hot-plate, this semi-useful USB Hotplate has a 4 port USB hub in it. Keep you drinks warm while you keep all your stupid USB crap connected. Wups, that's five gadgets. Better buy two.

Nope, but I think it'd be better than my card.

I got a ATI X600 and it keeps crashing all the time. Even in Windows explorer. :bleh: I'll try to exchange it for an NVidia.
