No I didn't do either. It just seemed to correct itself. Very strange. :shakehead: Thanks for your suggestions b-kun.

It usually happens when you ran out of memory. Closing a few applications should solve it.

Personally on Windows I prefer to use Filezilla. It's free, opensource and pretty easy to use. :)

On the Mac I prefer to use Transmit by Panic Software, although I hear good things about CyberDuck.

i've been using Transmit since forever. :applaud:

I use Smart FTP. Never had a problem with it yet... But I heard Filezilla is the best. But I haven't used it yet.

SmartFTP was working for me, then decided to stop. The prog just wouldn't start. :(

Same here. You need to download an update every month or so, to skip the nag screen. I only use it, when Filezilla doesn't work.

I haven't tried yet too, btw I was back from comp stores wanting to buy firewire and firecard turn out its pretty pricey.. grand total of $35.. I only brought about $25..

Actually much cheaper than I expected. I bought mine at Fry's last week.
there were 3 firewire PCI cards there in the lower price area. From $16 to $25. I bought the $25 as it was from a know reputable mfr. The other two were imports with those off brand names I never heard of before.
As soon as I installed it and turned on the computer, it worked right away.

Possibly securityfocus.com . The only problem is, by the time you find the password, your great great great great grand children will have graduated from high school.

  this time me and my friend want to make a different approach, we're gonna ask(make a deal.. or even bribe??) the administrator guy.. but we have to find his weakness first maybe he likes something in particular then we will use it..

Yes its rather cheap but the brand was unknown (at least to me).. btw is it true that 1 hour of recoding in mini DV equivalent to around 10 giga bytes??

Don't know exactly what you mean. But, 1 hour is 1 hour. If I convert anything to 1 hour in DVD format in top quality it will take the entire disc or 4.7 GB. And proportionally it goes down with the quality decrease, so if I convert 1 hour in 2 hour quality then that one hour video would take half the disc or I could put 2 one hour videos on the disc.

If you want to record anything over 1 hour in top quality then you have to go to double layer discs as is the case with all movies over an hour. Or record on multiple discs of course.

If I'm wrong I will await your corrections.

Sorry for not making myself very clear, on the day that I checked fo the firewire price, the technician there told me that if I want to convert 1 hour of recording of mini DV into .avi files it will take up about 10 gigabytes of my harddisk meaning the .avi files will be that large(with good quality he said), I just wondering if its true

Beware social engineering attempts on geeks. We're uniquely attuned to this practice and will bite. It's best to be straight with us. :wack:

I get to use bittorrent at work for my dorama shows because I asked if I could. The ports are actually forwarded direct to my IP at work form our main router. :dancing:
