My Scanner is a Canon Canoscan LIdE 30 lol I think I got it about a year and a half ago for like $60 at BestBuy when I still worked at the place.

It's alright but beacuse it's powered by the Usb port it can be kinda slow. but the best part is it's small enough to take around and it's THin.

yeah, was looking at the scanners and a lot of them are just using the USB ports now...

i think 1200 DPI, 48 bit should be enough...i am just scanning regular photos, and pix out of magazines, 8 1/2 x 11 or 9 x 12 size pictures, not going to do poster sized ones.

I have one of those puppies...a Umax. Slow as molasses but was one of the first flatbed scanners. I'd be surprised if it still worked.

yeah, it took like 5 minutes to scan a 8x10, but the res is amazing... at least 1600dpi IIRC

# Scan, copy, or e-mail photos at the touch of a button
# Up to 1,200 x 2,400 dpi resolution
# 48-bit depth for over 281 trillion possible colors
# 1 cable handles both USB and power
# Z-Lid expansion top accommodates bulky objects

at uhmm 300Dpi I think it takes 25-30 Sec to Scan, I've never timed it but I guess that seems right.

Hey I picked up this Logitech MX 1000 Laser mouse today, I think I might return it first thing in the morning, I really don't care for the feeling of it.

for some reason or another, i've lost my toolbar. i've tried to look for it at the bottom/the side of the screen, and it doesn't "pop up" as it used to when i have it on autohide. The "start" button doesn't work, even. So, can some kind soul help this retard out plz? Thx in advance,

Niko, you probably accidentally minimized it: put you mouse cursor near the edge of the screen and drag towards the center... :)

You've tried all four edges?

Hmm.

Try slivers of bamboo under the neighbor kid's fingernails.

Hmm, try Ctrl+Esc. That should bring up the start menu.

Sometimes when a window get lost out of the screen, I use a little program called LSL7Setup. http://ayumi_chan15.tripod.com/soft/lsl7setup.html
It wasn't design for that, but it works. :)

Install / Run it.
Just click the "..." button next to the process name.
Select, in the list, the # of the program hidden. (in this case Start Menu)
Click Ok.
Click show setup button. You should see the start menu.
By right-clicking somewhere in the start menu, you should be able to see the properties of the taskbar and, maybe, restore his position. :say_gdluck:
