HaruHaru subs released ep 21 of Swallow The Sun. :woot: :woot: :woot:

I don't know why I'm so obsessed with this drama. It is just simply spell binding. I've started watching it at the spa on the elliptical machine now and find my time going up to 1 1/2 hours just being immersed in the drama. And it's my 3rd time rewatching this.

NO!. It's not just Sung Yuri. I'm now realizing that although she is the female co-star, her role is actually quite limited.... perhaps only about 1/4 of the screen time compared to the male lead.... It's just that this is a superbly well executed drama with excellent filming of the many vistas from Korea, to Africa to Las Vegas. The story is riveting. The entire cast (which is huge for a series drama) must be from the Korean A list.

This drama must have had an enormous budget. I'm amazed they were able to film so many scenes in the largest hotels in Las Vegas. I can easily recognize the stock footages in the street shots but I know that many sets must have been on the premises of the hotels. The ending credits bear this out with giving thanks to the MGM and several other Las Vegas giants. :victory:

Still working on subbing the final episode by copying the hardsubs from the recording I made from the ch18 broadcast. Very tedious. Makes me ever so much more appreciative of the real subbers. At the rate I'm going, Haru subs may be out long before I could have finished. :bonk:

It did. The director and writer of STS, were the people that did All In back in 2003, that was a big hit for SBS. Because the success, Swallow the Sun was given a lot of budget & liberty to do what they wanted. Ji Sung was also in All In. Song Hye Gyo's career was also catapulted when she was in All In.

I may have to watch "All In" then.

I liked Sung Yuri's room mate... not familiar with Korean names yet.

The gal you mentioned above played Ami, Jackson's girl friend? Her part was not so big either but she is gorgeous too.

Great. Looking forward. Why are we suddenly so immersed in Kdramas? lol.

You will absolutely have to watch Swallow The Sun. I can't wait for the subs to finish to send it to you.

Have you watched any of the ones I've sent you?! A favourite is My Name is Kim Sam Soon (aka My Lovely Kim Sam Soon). I wonder if you would like it. I sent it to you.

I would start with Coffee Prince first though. That one really got me hooked.

Yes. I'm currently watching Snow White. It's funny that with so few Kdramas under my belt, the guy who plays the lead in Snow White is the same guy who plays one of the major supporting roles in STS. Amazing two totally opposite roles in the two dramas. He looked familiar so when I looked up his name sure enough it was the same guy.

I will take a look at Coffee Prince today. I will also take a peek at My Name Is Kim Sam Soon.

You'll probably like it. Swallow The Sun was unofficially called "All In 2", even though it wasn't a sequency.

No Song Hye Gyo wasn't in STS.

Dal Ja's Spring was good, I enjoyed it from beginning to end.

Wyn chan,

I just watched the first few minutes of Coffee Prince. Yesh. I'm going to like this. Here again the actor from One Fine Day. I can see now that I will enjoy anything in which he is the lead. He's just very charismatic.

Now I will watch a little of My Name Is Kim Sam Soon.
4 Dec 2009, 13:31 #1153
I watched the beginning of My Name Is etc. I think I will like this too.
For one thing any drama that begins with Nat King Cole singing draws me in just with his voice. lol.

So now I will watch the entire first episode.

I believe you've given me a double hitter with these two dramas.

Swallow The Sun ep 22 subs released just now. Looks like they are speeding the subs up. Might get them all before year end.

For all you Sung Yuri fans here's her site... Each time you go there, a different theme song from her dramas plays in BG.

Ralph, I started One Fine Day... and the first episode turned me off a little bit...

Is this a sad drama?

It's not a comedy but it's not sad either. It starts slow but it will pick up in a couple of episodes. I think you will enjoy it then.

Did you make it thru Snow Queen?

Okay, I'll stick with One Fine Day...

I just checked the 1st epi. I think I see why it turned you off. The main story is radically different from what the first episode makes you believe it will be.
