I am very impressed with the first episode of HYD. I think Jun is doing a pretty good job. I plan to leave a message for him on the HYD site. I can't wait to see more of it. Go Jun! Below are my initial thoughts on episode 1:

Spoiler Alert

The actress who plays Makino Tsukushi is very spot on. Her spunk is undeniable.

I think Hanazawa Rui seems less impassive than in the book and MG, which is a good thing. Not sure if his aloofness is apathy or arrogance, I guess we'll wait and see.

Now Nishikado and Akira, not sure how I feel about those two. They've always been sidekicks so I guess it's safe to assume they'll remain that way.

Doumyoji Tsukasa, ahhh Jun. So far, I don't like his character, which is good, because that means our Jun is doing a fine job. Mama Doumyoji makes an appearance early which is a great way to show us viewers Tsukasa's family life and give us insight into his temperament and character.

And finally, does anyone else think that Shizuka looks like a tanned Japanese version of Cameron Diaz? :hehe:

as for critisizing Arashi~ lol, we may be biased~ but remember the 'longkang' and 'apek' comments? we are cruel to them sometimes~ it's like having them as your own family members, and u get so critical at them sumtimes~ at least it's like that to me and my twin~ :rofl:

I like Jun's curly hair. It's as close to caterpillar hair as anyone could imagine without losing his kakkoi-ness. Now, if he walked onto the screen with corkscrew ringlets, that's where I draw the line. :hehe:

thank you for the hard work in translating this drama. we have been waiting a long time for this. even if we are excited about Jun's new drama, we will still have a place in our hearts for the rest of our Arashi guys.

i was wondering if Kioku would be continuing the subbing for Minami Kun no Koibito. i watched the 1st episode which was subbed by Kioku. it seems like an interesting drama. and it has one of my favorite songs as it's background OST. if anyone have any news on that i would appreciate it.
