Well, as far as additions are concerned, Genma is the final judge. So we shouldn't turn away addition suggestions because of stability reasons. What's what backing up of phpBB code is for.

Well I guess if all our pics were hosted by us then we could essentially change the pic whenever we want to :D

I just had an idea for an improvement. How about adding a feature so that you can PM several people with the same msg? Or can you already do that? And also a buddy list in the PM Inbox. That would be a nice feature. :)

Now THAT'S a very good suggestion. I use PM here constantly (probably more than posts). And at times when I need to send a PM with the same content to several members, I have to do the copy/paste routine for each PM. Looking through the mod listing (mod=modifications, as phpBB refer to mods as) at the phpBB web site, no one's written such a mod. So for this to be implemented, Genma would have to write it from scratch.

And create a jdorama mailing list feature, LOL

Actually some forums have like different usergroups you can create. Then maybe add the mass emailing feature so all members of that group can get an email or PM :D

I was thinking recently that the drama database isn't as up-to-date as it used to be. But that's perfectly understandable since it'd be a pretty monumental task for one person (Genma) to keep in order.

So anyways, the point I'm trying to get across would be to some how implement a way for members to help maintain the drama database. Sort of an Open Source-style way of adding new dramas, adding the actors/actresses in them, all around keeping everything up-to-date.

Of course this would be hard to keep track, but I find it hard to believe that anyone would intentionally sabotage this. They'd have to create a username, password, yadda-yadda. And if they do mess around maliciously, just ban the username/ip.

Maybe I'm looking into this a little too much. :sweat:

man there is basically one thing that really bugs me, and that is there being no decent profile - e.g. have sex, age, pic. man its gets really annoying not knowing if it is chick or boy, ect ect
i mean, peeps who dont want to dont have to write that stuff, and maybe you need to be a memeber to see it..

What Noated implements is a staff status. They're not mods but are considered staff. They don't have any mod abilities but they help to add anime related news and stuff like that. Maybe J-dorama could try something similar to that. You can recruit trusted people as a staff member who can help to update the database and things like that. And in the process you could screen people as staff but if in the worst situation someone tries to mess something up, I'm sure the site is backed up anyways :D

i noticed this long time ago but didnt really take it seriously but now i just thought why do we have so many stickies in each forum? can we have like a separate forum for that like label it as "announcements" and have all the announcements and stickies in there, that way things wouldnt be all complicated and messy

of course, topics like TSUNAMIS and got something u say thread in the general discussion is acceptable cuz it is a general topic, but stuff like guidelines and stuff should be in an annoucement forum.. nah mean?
