You got Yada Akiko as one of your artiste vote.....have you seen her in Last Christmas?? I really liked this one....not sure how you'll like it if you haven't seen it.

Kisarazu Cats Eye and Tiger and Dragon is really entertaining. Least I think so

Orange Days is good
I liked Wedding Planner and Love Story

DragonZakura was good enough for me. I like school dramas

Speaking of School dramas.....Kinpachi Sensei 6. Kinpachi Sensei is opposite Onizuka. If you like to see how a teacher deals with a class full of problems in life in a more serious manner, then try this.

if you're looking for a very touching story, 1 L of tears is really something else. if only i watched this in 2005, i would've put this one as the best of 2005 instead of hana yori dango.

Im already watching Last Christmas(ep9) I need something to watch after that.
I was looking for something SIMILAR to it, not plot-wise.. but similar quality and genre.
Wedding Planner seems interesting.. is it as good?

@BOGCHI: I loved wedding planner. I thought it was humorous and nice.
Its not boring....at least I didn't find it boring  Plus it was different then other dramas I watched. Planning weddings and this and that....it was neat. Abe Hiroshi is in it so yea, he does a good job playing his role as always.

At least give it try.

If you haven't watched Shotgun Marriage, do watch that to.
Hirosue Ryoko *spelling??* and Yutaka did excellent

I just finished Ai wa Do da?, a 1992 series that I think is a good dorama and a refreshing change from what's currently out there. It's about a widower and his three daughters (ages 25, 21, and 15). He is a hound dog whose pursuit of women over the past few years has resulted in little time interacting with his children. Now that all three are confronted with various crises, he finds himself, guiltily and grudgingly, trying to be a responsible parent. That's not to say he has stopped his outrageous flirting or muted his womanizing; he is a man who craves the ladies as much as he loves his children. While there is a lot of humor in this series, I would categorize this as more of a drama than a comedy. The script examines issues and relationships in a realistic and adult-like manner; it's not, thank goodness, about pop idol promotion or kawaii obsession, characteristics all too common in post-2000 dorama. The acting is good across the board. Misa Shimizu, who had a popular and critically successful run as a film actress in the 90's and early 2000's, is very good as the eldest daughter whose filial obligations are suffocating her own personal needs. But the two best performances belong to Ken Ogata as the libidinous father and Eriko Watanabe as his inordinately patient, taken-for-granted mistress. Ogata, who has had a long and impressive acting career (three-time winner of the Japan Academy Award for Best Lead Actor), is excellent playing a character who is alternately unlikeable and sympathetic, selfish and giving, cruel and sweet. Watanabe, who in most of the episodes appears in only one scene, is still able to create a fully developed character whose innermost thoughts and feelings are totally transparent to the viewers. Full of depth and pathos, it's one of the best performances in a supporting role I have seen in dorama. Oh, yeah, a word about the ending. It's not the satisfying neat end that I suspect most viewers would want and are accustomed to, but it is certainly the most realistic and logical way to end this series.

I liked your review of Ai wa Do da and I thought I'd chime in.

I saw it a few months ago and really enjoyed it.

And to be honest... the ending made the series for me. Without it, the show might have simply been worth watching. That ending made it memorable.

I agree; "memorable" is an apt description. The scriptwriter (Akio Endo) had the integrity to stay true to form to the very end.
