I hope so, my mom is having doubts about her beacuse she is tall..

like others have said Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

I have no issuse with it, my mom also said "do you know how many guys she sees a day?"

I say yeah.. and your point would be?

then I say again "it's better to make a lasting impression..

say like I got her the Hot coco and cookies, so everytime she picks them up she can remember that I got them for her.

like I said on another site..

My advice or the way I do things..

Be nice

act like a Gentalmen

treat her with the uttermost respect

Whats the matter with tall? :grumble:
Im 5'9" and thats a good thing. :) Your Mom must be short.

BTW being a gentleman with some class will always go far. ;)

Being nice is good, being too nice however can mess things up for you. Girls do want to get spoiled and get compliments, but they don't want guys to suck up to them all the time too.

I tried to read a few pages back, are you still going to give/send the fancy flower bouquet? my advice: don't. it's too formal. Unless you're proposing or somesort, you guys aren't dating yet right? One rose will do fine on first date.

Writing stuff about Angels and alike probably won't do much good either, maybe it would work if she never dated a guy before - but with an older girl/woman I think she'd probably find it um...not so cool. Ofcourse it depends on how the person is we sadly can't tell what's 100% right or wrong to do.

these are my thoughts.

I was going to send this instead.

And more so likey a day before I get to the hotel

I think the message about friendship would be the best right now IMHO.

6'5"? A woman?

Now Im not sure I believe you.

6'3" is really tall for a woman.

Hmm, question though: why send flowers before you see her? why not give her the flowers yourself?

If you're going: don't give her time to think about it. just overwhelm her :naughty: that way she won't be able to act awkward right away IF she doesn't like you.

now I think of it. what's up with "the friendship" ? you've only talked a few times at the hotel that time right? IMO it's not wise to write a card about how important she is and how lonely you are, etc. you barely know eachother :/ she'll be more than likely think: wth. women hate desperate.

again, this is my opinion - of course you don't have to agree with me. why not just ask her for a casual date, or dinner before doing the flowers/cards etc.

maybe because the flowers would die before I get to the hotel?

I mean you can't keep roses in a 80+ F car for about a 4 1/2 drive.

I don't see what was wrong with the friendship part... just starting out.

yea, exactly, way too tall!
think it would be better if he was that tall and she was shorter. :bonk:
i guess that girl would have to date a shorter guy being that tall, unless she went for a basketball player, and he was playing the center position, at 6'10" :hehe:

wow in 18 weeks I will be 21.

well there's nothing wrong with friendship, thing is you obviously DO NOT want to be just friends, you want more than that. :hehe:

so that's a bit strange IMO that you claim how much your friendship is worth while you barely know eachother. You need to be careful with these things. I'd be terrified if a girl sent me something like that after meeting only once..

you just don't send over flowers to start a friendship. don't make that mistake.

oh well, do whatever you think is best.
16 Aug 2005, 02:30 #375
lol so you think I should do without the roses and talk some more?
16 Aug 2005, 02:54 #376
I don't want to sound pushing you around really, but re-read the things I posted and think about it: they do make sense. What you do with it, that's up to you ofcourse :)

The evil thing about being (good) friends is: you'll probably be friends forever, nothings going to happen between you. it's either friend or lover. You need to choose because both is not going to happen. (maybe 1 in a million)

Since you already like that girl, it's easy pick for you: go for it.
But don't go for the card with "i wanna be good friend" approach. That will most likely fail. Because you mark yourselves down as _just_ friends and it's scary too to receive those things from a "stranger".

Do I still make sense? as in do you understand the words coming out of my mouth? :hehe:

i read this post and the following one Terryb replied to. It makes full sense and i think it is good advice. Just go for it, since you already like this girl, and the friendship doesn't just happen after one encounter. My thoughts exactly with what Terryb wrote.... , but it is your choice and i think you need to follow what you want, just be aware of the consequences if you make the wrong choice. It is obvious that you want "more" than just her friendship and to send mixed signals like that in your card, might confuse her. maybe tell her how you truly feel, but hold back a little since it is still very very early. just my opinion. :bonk:

Just to add my 2 cents worth from a female point of view. Eventhough the roses are a lovely idea...sometimes too much romance too soon can be the death of a budding relationship. First get to know her by phone or in person, then date, then maybe send some flowers. First get to know one another. :)

PS. The roses were a lovely idea but maybe not just yet. ;)

again, i fully agree. take it slow, but pursue her since you really like this girl, and get to know her. read between the lines....hope it works out for you... :hehe:
yeah, girls love the flowers, it could make there day, and make'em blush, but the timing is everything...

Yeah, as a chick I have to agree with ya' timing is everything. I used to tutor a few guys in calc. and I had absolutely know clue they liked me (of course I tutored the second guy at a much later date than the first). The first one started to give me flowers right away for what seemed to be no apparent reason and he freaked me out. His friend finally told me the reason why I was getting the flowers. Needless to say I resigned as his tutor. He just came on too fast. The second guy didn't give me anything until after the fourth month of tutoring him. He gave me a single rose for my b-day. I thought that was the sweetest thing ever. I eventually fell for the guy and well...hopefully it turns out like that this guy.
