no but despite the sake goggles that i'm wearing after finishing my 13th shot i can see thru your ruse....just barely. in fact there is a female sittin' in the corner over there...wait, i hope these goggles aren't fooling me in to thinking she's good looking. i hope she's not a Monet -- good from far, but far from good. :nut: :drink:

Hardly a ruse.

More like a full-blown sting operation. ;)

im saying that a sake meant to be served cold, wouldn't taste the same if it was served hot.

Absolutely. A nigori should never be served warm. It's just wrong.

Man, that's no small time sake bar.

I used to work for a chain of Wine shops, and I loved it when the tastings were held over at Takara.

That was me. :)

The tasting room was just "wow". I didn't even know there was a seperate room for tasting until I got there. :hehe:

I purchased a bottle of plum wine which was really good chilled. I couldn't stand any of the other tastes. Maybe I need to drink some more so that the taste won't matter. :beaten:

Sweet article, bmw. Thanks for the opportunity for the insight! I myself don't know much about sake (although I could tell you stories that will put you to sleep about beer) however, I feel more confident in whatever future choices I may make to try some brands of sake.

Sure thing, Aho.

Ain't knowledge (especially about booze) fun? :hehe:

Since a few of us were discussing mixed drinks in the "Member's Pics Comments Only" thread (sorry!) I thought I would add this receipe here in honor of dochira leaving for Hawaii soon for a nice vacation. :)

Mai Tai

1 1/2 oz. Dark Rum
1/2 oz. each: Orange Curacao & creme de noyaux (almond flavored liqueur), lime juice
Dash of Grenadine if desired
Shake with ice & serve in a Hurricane or decorative glass
Or add extra juice & blend with crushed ice for a frozen variation,
Garnish with a flag (an orange slice and cherry skewered)
15 Sep 2005, 00:58 #370
replace with 151 for the Oh My! Mai Tai. :hehe:

Thanks Enna for the recipe.

It's a brand of liquor that is named for it's proof: it is 151 proof, or ~75% alc.

Sorry, Bacardi 151 (aka 75+% alc) rum. Stronger than normal rum, 80 proof vs 151 proof

actually out here lots of them drink that strong black coffee with no sugar ... DAMN ... :shakehead: .... NO WAY ... for me

I put in like 5-7 packs of sugar in a mug.

yep it's pretty good, I've had the Black Cherry, Orange, Green Apple however green Apple has the most taste, the others kinda taste the same.

No wonder when I lost a bet with an old coworker at Louis Vuitton, she wanted the Green Apple flavor and wouldn't take anything else.
I went to Daiei to get it and they were out for 2 weeks. However, all the other flavors were in stock.
Hmmm, that good huh?

That stuff taste like a wine cooler or something?
