i guess if you view it like that, then it could cost a bundle, is it worth it? not sure, guess if the S.O. is one to keep, i suppose it can be expensive but worth it. a diamond, then financially it can be dreadful, that's three months salary or more for some. :beaten:

Hurts dude. Especially after the intitial "big present", (if you're like me) you seem to always have to find a way to out do yourself from the year before. :beaten: That's where it hurts, my friend. :beaten: :beaten:

With your 'tude about V-day, don't bet on it.
HEY!...im growing out of it :shamefulcry:
@Terry, i know some girls are like that, but alot of guys are the same way.
and anyway, it should be your pleasure to make your hunny happy on Vday, if you luv her.........no matter how materialistic she is,
and besides , your problee the one who spoiled her :victory:
Terryb wrote:but some of you guys are too obsessed about getting a bigger and better present each year :hehe:
For me, that comes naturally. As with everything in my life, I always feel the need to better myself from years past. Yeah, perhaps that way of thinking is like a "double-edged sword", so to speak, but the way I see it, at least it helps you to acheive bigger and better things.
And not always will you "win". Victory never comes without defeat.
Ofcourse you want to please your gf/bf, by no means I'm saying that you shouldn't buy a nice big present ;) but there can be always a point when the best isn't good enough anymore.
ahochaude: seems like it's more important to yourself in getting a bigger n better n more expensive gift each year than to your partner :hehe:

I haven't reached my limit yet. ;)

Uh, no.
She enjoys it when I buy her nice things. But isn't it "human nature" to be "happier" to get something "better" than you got last year? I mean, the whole repetitive thing (chocolates and/or flowers year after year), I mean c'mon. LAME. --Even if I were a chick. Duh, LAME. I'd bitchslap him. (But I'm not a chick)
The point is, you want to make your other 1/2 feel special. Being original and new would help. And of course, money (not necessarily spending more will do it, but in most cases it will) is a factor.
Also, doesn't giving (more than expected), create such an emotion, for your other 1/2 and yourself?

wow, ........either you dont know women at all....or im just a very strange woman(and i am!)
but still.......the way you talk about v day makes me ill
you make it seem like ..something impure or..forced.
shit man , that sux

my thoughts exactly, in the end it shouldn't matter at all what you're buying her - a more expensive gift doesn't make it necessarily better. As for chocolates n flowers, who still buys that shit for valentine? that's maybe good the first time...
why are u always stuffing chocolates in my mouth?? lol
i think for V day all i would want is my hunny, no mushy mushy
no flowers and no damn chocolates! a teddy mite be ok :victory:
If I did have a girlfriend I would spend our Valentines together cuddling on the couch watching whatever movie she wants. Unfortunatley for me I don't have a girlfriend...
I don't got a GF, so im not expecting anything on Vday, no candy no nutting, even from any of my friends that are girls from my highschool...
But really, what makes VDay so special??? i still don't see the point of it :shakehead:, besides a day for couples to get happy in bed or any other comforting place in the house
