i used to frown upon adults reading harry potter, then one day i gave it a try to see what all the fuss is about. i was pleasantly surprised. now i can see why they're so popular.

Finished "the wind up bird chronicles" by Haruki Murakami a little while ago, very good book, would recommend him to anyone, even if they had no interest in everything japanese, and as im guessing that most of you do, then all the better!
Been going through a few comics lately, read the politzer (sp?) prize winning 'maus' which is a great story about the holocaust.

Now it ain't so bad, huh?! :hehe:

Btw, what is that book "Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy" about anyway? I've seen it mentioned on other message boards before and now I see it here, not to mention I'm seeing it as a movie preview now.

The Hitchhikers Guide is a must for all intergalactic space travelers, full of helpful tips, like never forgetting your towel, and provides much more useful information than the Encyclopedia Galactica. It also has printed on the cover in large friendly letters: DONT PANIC!!

Anyway the book is brilliantly funny. It is an enormous shame that the author Douglas Adams died so young. The movie cant compare. Give yourself a treat and read the first in the series.

Nothing you did, just what you are - in freedom.
[ne, did you see my post in the Gokusen thread?]

And to stay on topic, am I the only one that can't focus while reading Crime and Punishment? I swear, everytime I crack open that book I just end up staring off into space. I need to finish it by the end of the month.... :argh:

there is nothing on this earth that kills a good book faster than having to read it for a class :hehe:

Reading Battle Royale (novel) and Fever Pitch right now. I really like Fever Pitch, but then again my fav football team is the gunners, so its kinda preaching to the choir  Oh and i keep hearing from people to read Murakami, but the three books of his i've read i couldn't stand (Norweign Wood, South of the Border, Underground), am I reading his dregs, or is the best he's got to offer?

I'm still reading that book, "The Pocket Mortgage Guide".

Great book, just wish I had the time to finish it.
