I find this easy to do at my job. I just sit beside any one of my sticky kids (students). Never fails. Also, did you know that a teacher's desk is the most germ-infested. Don't remember when the study was done, but I totally believe it.

I didn't know that about the teacher's desk...wonder why? I work in a hospital and with the latest MRSA scares happening throughout the UK, the hospitals are trying to be really strict about spreading germs so I don't think I'll be catching any bugs from work, unfortunately. :grumble:

Damn noob...only got hired a couple of months ago and she's parading around like a supervisor, telling me what I can and cannot do, checking up on my work (behind my back) and taking anything she finds "wrong" straight to the boss instead of letting me fix my errors. Threw a bag of film jackets at me just because "I didn't say Good Morning to her..." Boss' pet, can't complain about her...sucks. :banghead:

I think it's more in reference to elementary teachers' desks, where they constantly have kids around it and kids work. Kids ARE walking germs, so it's really hard not to get sick on a regular basis. Luckily I have a solid immune system. But every now and again...

Key her car. :angeldevil:

lol I hate co-workers who suck up, and it's worse when you can't do anything about it. I totally know how you feel.

Wynter-chan, my wife's a teacher, like I said before. She tends to get sick more than anyone I know, because she gets everything that the kids get - and parents would rather send their kids to school before they are better than have to look after them at home.

A hug always works...even if it's a cyber-hug. Thanks!!

And I heard that hospitals were one of the most virus-infested places to be in. I guess schools are worse....

About that nut-case - she lives nearby and walks to work. People say, take it to Human Resources. If I do that, they'll take the matter straight to the Supervisor, who is best buds with this nut-case. Either way, I lose. So, I just try to do my job the best I can and try to ignore her as much as possible, which is not easy. Shame really...it's a great job and I have lots of friends...it's just her and the boss that are making my work environment extremely uncomfortable mostly because I don't know what sort of crap they're going to throw on me next. Oh...and what else did she say after she threw those film bags at me (for no reason)...I didn't ask her about her holiday. :shakehead:

And she teaches the young'uns too! I don't have it so bad because I teach teenagers, and they tend to skip more than come to class. I feel for your wife. It's tough, too, because teachers can't afford to get sick in the first place.

Wow, ganmo-san, your co-worker sounds nasty. And demented. But you know, it sounds like she's bullying. Isn't there someone in a high position than the supervisor who can help/hear you out?

Yep, young'uns who do stuff like pick their nose and forget to wash their hands after going to the toilet. :bleh:

LOL! Awwwwww... memories from when I taught grade 1. They were so cute tho. They'd hug me when they went off to recess, and hug me when they got back. And hug when they went to gym, and hug when they came back. >>maternal gush<<

She is...but she's also one of those really smooth ones who can make people believe that black is white. She can be quite charming (although I've seen her other side). People actually think she's a great person.

I can take it to a higher level (I've thought about it) but because she hides her true self really well around others and the boss adores her, no matter what I say, or how many notes I've logged (I do keep a diary), no one's going to back me up. It's okay...it's too good a job for me to let go of...I've managed to keep my cool so far.

Yeah, that's what my wife says. She really loves those little ones - although she has one this year she could happily strangle :)

But this is workplace bullying! And you've worked there longer. I'm sure the work peeps would take your word over hers, no matter how much a hooch... erm... smooth... she may be.

EW! SO TRUE! We have a staff bathroom that I refuse to use because of the stories that revolve around it. :shakehead:

LOL! There's always that one kid. I'd gladly trade her young wee trouble-maker for my gang of rubbish teens.

Well, this "little angel" my wife has this year..... the first time she saw him (at school orientation around Dec last year, when he was 4) she said hello to him..... and he replied "F*** off"!

According to the evolution of generations, I'd say that boy hit the mark for his.

Thanks!! I'm doing alright, just staying cool and keeping my sanity... :victory:

I know...but she's too devious. I need to build up a case (continue taking notes) before I can proceed. I'm just laying low at the moment, keeping my cool....when I have enough notes and enough evidence, I'm taking this to a lawyer, seriously.

...and then he asked for a hug? (okay...just joking... ). We have our share of teeny wee thugs here in Glasgow...little 5 year olds throwing rocks, bottles and bricks at people, cars and buses. Those are the ones that need to be tied to a tree, in pouring rain, for some good time out.

Yea, good plan. God bless you with patience. :victory:

I still think the soap in mouth method works best.
