Just had this customer call in, he wanted to be reimbursed because his DSL had been down for 2 hours. I thinking, if the guy pays $20 a month, thats about 67 cents a day or about 3 cents an hour. I wanted to say, "O.K. buddy, I'll send you a nickel in the mail" :beatyou:

LOL! You shoulda.

Work is going surprisingly well for me. I haven't had a VP stuck to my butt for a few weeks now, and my classes have been going as sane as 30 teens in one room can go. :victory:

LOL! I've also never gone back for a visit, even tho my sis works there now and it's about a 4 minute drive away. That chapter is officially closed.

I've gone back a few times, but they had an entirely new staff, so it was ok. :)

It's amazing how fast they rotate! A few of the oldies still work at my place, but for the most part they're all new... and young.

The Queen and family are traveling next week, so naturally she's super anal this week...

I should buy a bag of charcoal briquets and have her make a buncha diamonds for me.

Had a tier1 rep from India call in with the customer on the line and just before the tier1 rep transferred the customer over he asked the customer, "I'm sorry sir, what is your name again?" The customer (clearly frustrated) "Oh, Jesus, , , " and the tier1 rep asks, (completely serious) "I see sir, your name is Jesus." Meanwhile, I've got my mute on because I'm doing this:

You should have said, "Ok, so what is the problem Mr. Christ?"

Hey Wyn-chan, I thought you might like an update on Mrs Anime Dad's new treasure of a student.... It was his first day the other day. On the first day he was manageable in the classroom, but otherwise he:

- urinated on the floor of the girls toilet
- exposed himself to other children
- threw sand at one child
- punched another
- called other students "motherf***ers".

Good start huh?

 Does Mrs Anima Dad have an assistant or a helper in the class? Like another adult other than herself?

Not full-time..... Although she needs one.

Definitely. In my niece's kindergarten class, there's the teacher, a T.A. and two adult helpers. I think the ratio comes out to be 1:5 or something.

I really feel for this kid tho. Things will only get worse in the future unless he's given help at this age. I am SO not jealous of your wife. :shakehead:

Apparently he lives with grandma. Mum is in jail, and dad is not in the picture. Not much future for him huh?

I could tell you plenty of other stories, but i'm sure you've heard similar things yourself. Teachers can never be paid enough, IMO.

Thank you! My relatives can't understand why teachers complain so much. They think we have the best job because we get all this "time off". I work every waking hour of every day. Okies, give or take an hour :D.

But ya know, when you work with a kid like this one, or help a kid like this one out, or even simply win him over, everything suddenly becomes worth it. Our job may be tough, but it's really REALLY rewarding, as Mrs Anime Dad surely tells you.

Wyn-chan, she LOVES the teaching part. Especially in kindy, where they go from not being able to read or write to reading and writing within a few months. She's even teaching kids of kids she taught years ago... It's all the other stuff she hates. No support from the Education Dept, cutting staff back, parents who think they know better,...... all that kind of stuff.

They NEED the holidays, just to stay sane.

I actually went to kindergarten with a guy like that. He was troublesome until he quit High School. He ended up in jail.

On that note, all the staff out our school were actually given homework this weekend by the administration.

The adminstration is trying to pretend that they're actually doing something to better our school, so they've come up with a program where we can all get together and create things that would help benefit our students. Sounds like a good idea, yea?

Well apparently the teachers are to do all the work while the admin reaps the benefits and gets the acknowledgement. They also gave us a 200 paged resource and said that, over the weekend, we're to read two chapters (about 30 pages each) for Monday so that we're prepared for whatever it is they're making us do.

I have a BIG problem with this. They have no right asking us to do work over the weekend ABOVE all the work we have to do for our classes. Espeially since this is their way of avoiding the work load themselves. They're not paying us to do this and it has nothing to do with Professional Development. So frustrating!

Should be a decent week this week: a short three days, and the boss and VP are out of town.

It doesn't get better than that. :victory:
