Kawaii!!! When I taught at Jane and Finch, half the students at the school were Cambodian.

Ahhhhhhhh finally. Friday.

I had a bad beginning to this day that ended on a warm fuzzy high note. I was told that some teachers have been telling kids that they don't like me, or, as my kids put it, "Miss, some teacher's have been hating on you, you know." They told me during period 2, and although I smiled and told me kids that it was okay for teachers to dislike other teachers, I still felt bad inside. I mean, I don't even know who these teachers are and I felt it unfair that they judge me without knowing me.

Anyways, so I guess it showed on my face that I was a little upset, and when my period 5 kids found out what it was about, they said they'd form an army to protect me against nasty teachers, "Dumbledore's Army", only with MY surname in the title. For some reason this really made me feel a lot better. I mean, as a teacher, it's important that I have a good report with the students moreso than with staff, and I'm glad I have that...

I think that "Dumbledore's Army" thing is really sweet and shows how much your students like you. :) It's too bad that some teachers are childish enough to dislike a fellow teacher AND mention it to their students. Makes me wonder who the adults are here. :shakehead:

Yea, tho I can understand why it can happen. I mean, there have been times when I've "hated" on a teacher for something stupid, but I wouldn't go badmouthing that teacher to a student.

I'd like to think that I'm a bigger person than that, but it still bothers me a little. It's never fun knowing people are trashing you to students.

Grrr, it's unethical for teachers to do such a thing... That's so lowbrow and unprofessional. :grumble:

If you find out who they are, lemme call them and chew them out. :smack:

That sucks, Wyn-chan.... as beem said, highly unprofessional :grumble:

I guess it's because they don't know you like we do :glomp:

I would think that you could file some kinda grievance with the Teacher's Union or something, ne?

One thing is to discuss stuff with other teachers, but with students?? :shakehead: :shakehead: :shakehead:

I don't want to know who they are. Because what will then happen is that I'll know them as "the teacher who hates on me" and then I'll create a bias towards them, and I'd rather not do that.

Although I'm sure there are people on this forum who don't like me. :beaten:

I have come across some teachers that were way more childish than the kids they were supposed to educate. With all due respect to Wynter I'm usually a bit skeptical about teachers - I had met some good one in the past but they are like an endangered species.
