Great work as usual  Now we finally know what depressed her so much. Gotta post something in her blog now, as well.
Poor Aya  I donLt understand why she thinks her acting is not getting better?!!! She is a excellent drama actress and she has improved a lot over the last year with brilliant comedy acting skills (like in SS and AP) and her drama acting is getting better and better, too.
I wonder what made her thing she isnLt good? CanLt imagine any director saying that to her anymore.
The translation:
I talked with my mom about my job. This was something we hadn't talked about in a long time.
I remembered the director of my first drama "Namida wo fuite" who scolded me saying my acting was horrible!! And now how many years have passed...even with all these people praising me for my acting skills...I've realized I'm back at the same start point as back then. I felt deplorable because of my incompetence and I cried. My parents are really great. They're wonderful. Lately these feelings seemed to have been sealed away so being able to cry to my mom after a very long time...I think I can start afresh. I can only say "I think". This has become a depressing Mail even though what happened was actually a good thing. I'm still crying though!! Umm. (lol)
edit:
I just left a message for her about that over at the hotelier site. Damn, took me a while to cut it shorter in the end because there are only 1000 letters allowed. I had nearly 2000 first
Hmm. Is that so. Well in the end she says it was actually a good thing to be scolded. Well it's up to her to decide  since I'm not at her side on the shooting stage I can't really judge. Seems she has some difficulties to create a new acting at each role, yeah maybe she's being told there are too much common points in her acting whatever is the drama. Well after all she hasn't attended a dramatic acting school has she ? I mean like Zhang Ziyi or like Orlando Bloom, they studied for some years at full time and started shooting movies at the age of , dunno, 24 or so. These studies gave them maturity to play for example sad characters ... well the kind of feelings that a normal person with a happy life would never encounter for real.
I 'm all behind Aya. I say if she wants to test herself, she should go to an acting school and see there if she's made for acting or not. After all it's harmless : if yes she will progress even quicker, and if not the problem will be fixed and she won't be sad/depressed anymore. After all the real strength of Aya, is that she's down to earth and is always close to people. That's a big quality, which can be easily forgotten in our complex society ruled by diplomas, business, technology etc. I'm not really worried about her :woot: (but I may be tottally wrong as well  )
AYA-CHAN :woot: SHOW THEM THAT IT'S POSSIBLE TO BE CUTE AND CLEVER AT THE SAME TIME !
To the japanese people : SHOW THEM AYA IS DEAR TO YOUR HEARTS, NOT BECAUSE SHE'S AN ACTRESS, NOT BECAUSE SHE'S A SINGER, NOT BECAUSE SHE'S A MODEL, BUT BECAUSE SHE HAS A GREAT PERSONALITY ... BECAUSE SHE PERFECTLY REPRESENTS THE HEARTFUL JAPANESE PEOPLE ! She's Mrs Ambassador of Japan, more genuine, legitimate than any Miss election !

It's strange it now works for me. :headscratch: I swear there was 5 min ago a pic with a blonde girl named tina o'brien at some tv show -_-" I guess I have gift for this kind of pics  Oh well I should just master my gift to find rare Aya pics then.
See ya all.
The thing I can see Aya struggling with is that these tv dramas are so thin and vacuous. The plots are overly simple and the characters seem the same in every one.
I'd much rather see her in a film, where she has a chance to do something different. I still think one of her best roles thus far has been in Tsubasa no Oreta Tenshitachi. She just needs to pick her roles more carefully if she feels like she's getting stagnate. Pick something meaty with a good range or something really comedic because she excels at that as well.

could just be me.......but if Aya really wants to know how far her acting has gone, she needs to put herself in a role she hasn't yet.
She needs to play the "bad guy" or villain of some kind of drama or movie.
If she can pull that off just fine, then she's a great actress. A great actor/actress to me is one who can be a variety of characters

I absolutely agree
but the thing is, she's probably not choosing these roles. her agency is.
Oscar :grumble:
anyway, there aren't a lot of actors who usually admit that their acting skills have not been good lately, she's a very honest person and doesn't lie to herself. I think that can only help her get better :)

Well, ItLs typically japanese to say that been scolded will help to improve your skills and work. And itLs true.
Yes, we donLt know what really happened. Maybe it was something in the press, maybe her director said something (donLt believe that though. I mean she is the big star and no "small" director would ever tell Robert DeNiro that his acting sucked :hehe: )
You wouldnLt belive how fast you got 1000 letters together  Actually I didnLt write that much. Only asked what happend and said that she shouldnLt take it to her heart too much. Her acting is great. She improved a lot and she is great in all kinds of roles, drama and also comedy like in SS and AP lately.
DonLt know if the others wrote anything, too? The question is still if english entries will be read? ItLs too bad that itLs always "just japanese." She has many fans outside Japan who love her as much as the Japanese fans!! :shamefulcry:

Maybe it was just a problem with the imagevenue directing or something with temp. internet files...

Good point. Many dramas are kinda simple and donLt requite much acting. But there are good and bad ones, of course. Her older roles were very good but I agree that she maybe does too many roles lately and should pick less and only really good ones. After all she does 3-4 dramas the year nowadays
More movies would be nice, yes. WeLll see what that SF movie will be.

Yes, good idea. She is only playing the cute, good girl most of the time. In Kinpachi sensei she already showed that she can play a "dark" unfriendly character well, too. Maybe she should try a role like that again. ILd like to see it. Many "fans" might be a bit shocked first but I agree that it would improve her acting and show a completely different actress Aya.
