1/ reduce the number of advertising campaigns - stick with a few long-term contracts, like Lotte Soh, Oronamin C etc and do fweer one-off campaigns
2/ reduce the number of tv appearances - not stop altogether, but make fewer, especially one-off guest appearances
3/ reduce the number of photoshoots for magazines etc, and fewer personal appearances
4/ use the free time to take acting and singing lessons - they'd boost her self-confidence, give the vocal power and technique to improve her singing ability, and hopefully get her more recognition as a serious actor and singer
5/ most important - TAKE SOME TIME OFF! I really think Aya needs to take more holidays to prevent burnout/fatigue.
You see, when we talked about Aya pursuing both acting and singing, we forgot to take into account the volume of other activities she participates in - which I think may be a factor in her live singing occasionally sounding tired, and her recent feelings of depression about her acting (as I recall she didn't actually say she'd been scolded during 'Hotelier', only that she felt like she did when she'd been told off when younger).
I vaguely remember her saying something about not taking a vacation since 1999! Okay, I know she goes on short trips to Okinawa.but I think she needs to take annual breaks of 2, 3 or even 4 weeks! A good, long vacation away from work would really recharge her batteries.
Don't get me wrong - I think her acting nowadays is excellent, I'm really enjoying her work in 'Hotelier', and her singing is good - most of the time. I just think she should concentrate more on the serious side of her career, and get the recognition she deserves. And get some regular breaks in!
What do the rest of you think?
Even if this means thereLd be not as much "daily-Aya" I totally agree. Better quality than quantity!!
But this wonLt happen, I think. ItLd be quite not "Japanese-like" and, even if Aya is a big star, there is a big risk that she can fall down very fast if she isnLt as much present as now. So Oscar wonLt "allow" that, I think. On the other hand she can as much fall down if people get too glutted with Aya and if her music/doramas getLs worse.
Of course too much work means not much practise. And her work could get worse because she is burned out. So this whole thing is somewhat a doom loop
Personally ILd like to see her less. DonLt get me wrong ;) but because if we donLt get stuffed with new doramas and magazines all the time, the more we would appreciate new ones!
I mean just look in how many mags she is monthly!!! Not only that itLs super expensive to be a collector itLs nearly impossible to buy all of them. Same goes for doramas: 3-4 the year are really much.
She should better halve her doramas and mags and take some time of, recharge the batteries, take acting and singing lessons (not that sheLd be bad. Absolutly not!! She is getting better and better. But some lessons would help her get even better) and maybe do more movies.
So, for her own sake, ILd like to see her shift a gear down. I donLt want to see her get sick or depressed because she works too much. And her work will be much better if she is happy, healthy and full of energy!
It would be a shame if sheLd have to quit some day because she canLt do it anymore because she is burned out.
But unfortunately Japan is a consumer society (probably the biggest) and stars are forced to work their asses off, get sucked out till they donLt earn enough money anymore... and then get dropped :shakehead:
I think Aya is pretty aware of that, too. So she probably will work on like this till she has earned enough or doesnLt want to do it anymore.
She said herself already that sheLd like to act and sing as long as she has fun doing it. But she plans to quit in her mid twenties- 30 to marry and get a family as a "normal" person. Till then she will probably have enough money that she wonLt have to worry about anything anymore. Understandable, as this sounds absolutly like AyaLs nature. She is very much of a family man.
